Coming Gay Attractions! Presenting Our Fall Film Preview!Movie: Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (October 3) What Is It About? Two star-crossed music lovers meet by chance at an indie rock show and embark on a quest to find a secret performance by their favorite band ... and of course fall for one another along the way.
Kat Dennings and Michael Cera in Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist Why Is It Gay? Nick is the straight member of the Queercore band, the Jerk Offs, whose gay members have their own small storylines. Plus, the movie is based on the book by gay author David Levithan (and his friend Rachel Cohn). Big Budget or Indie Darling? The budget may be small-ish, but hopes are high that the Juno lightning will strike twice. Broccoli or Dessert? A marshmallow toasted over a flaming barrel on a crisp fall evening.
The Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist trailer: Movie: Religulous (October 3) What Is It About? Comedian Bill Maher goes Michael Moore in this documentary where he travels the world exploring the topic of religion.
Why Is It Gay? Maher gets in the face of right-wing religious leaders over their beliefs about gay people. Big Budget or Indie Darling? A small film, but Maher is a publicity whore — and this is coming out very close to the election. If it’s well done and gets the Fox pundits all riled up, it could have Fahrenheit 9/11 break-out potential. Broccoli or Dessert? It’s a serious topic, but Maher always adds a lot of sugar to make his medicine go down.
