Do Movie Posters Have You Confused About What to See This Year? Let Us Help Decipher Them!

Now that we've got both feet firmly inside 2010, it's time to take a look at the coming year in entertainment. Reeling off record ticket sales in '09, Hollywood is hoping to bring you back for more movies (and more over-priced boxes of Goobers) this year. How do you tell the good from the bad? The quality from the junk?

By carefully studying the promotional material, of course!

We don't know much about the following movies, but a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Let's see what we can find out about this year's batch of films by studying their posters.

Alice in Wonderland (Release date: March 5)

Wow, so I guess Elijah Wood decided he was going to play The Hobbit after all. Or whatever deranged, acidic version of The Hobbit Stephen King has come up with here. Seriously, is that blood on his fingers? And a ticket to Platform 9 3/4 stuck into his hat? Has he been slaughtering Muggles at King's Cross Station? I do not think Bilbo Baggins would approve of — oh, wait — that's Johnny Depp?

And this is a Tim Burton movie? Never mind, then. Perfectly normal. Let's move along.

Clash of the Titans (Release date: March 26)

Well, well, look at that — Sam Worthington chopped off the head of The 456. It appears you don't need to sacrifice your own grandchild or your boyfriend to defeat a gaggle of aliens after all. All you need is Lion-O's Sword of Omens! Someone really should call Captain Jack to let him know.
