"Verona"'s Starcrossed Lovers Are Back With a Night At Queen Mab's

Can music bridge the gap between houses?

A couple months back a lot of you responded to Verona, a modern all male retelling of Romeo and Juliet using two fraternities as the houses. It was shot as a short with the intent of attracting funding for full development, and we thought we'd seen the last of the footage until they made the movie.

But we're in luck because there's more of DeGrassi: The Next Generation's John Bregar and Shannon Kook-Chun. The three clips today tell an arc of the movie from flirtation, to shy conversation, to a wild drug fueled date.

Falling into each other on the dance floor.

Do you know that moment when a guy catches your eye, and you wonder if you've caught his? That little thrill when he looks back? That's where we begin with our Romeo and Romeo. We also get the setup for the rivalry between houses, all enhanced by the ambiance of a masquerade ball.

Obviously one of our guys is much more comfortable being out and dating than the other. There's little doubt that Shannon Kook-Chun is driving this relationship, but it's the hesitant, halting emotion from John Bregar's character that makes the scene.

And finally, a wild night dancing with Queen Mab to music from 90's diva Maya Days. Kook-Chun is quick to lose his shirt and feel the beat, but has to offer some liquid encouragement to help Bregar succumb to the music.

Soon Verona will be offering the music for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Matthew Shephard Foundation. But no word yet on a feature.

Do these clips leave you wanting more? I know I do.
