She lost me after Bedtime Stories, I haven't really dug much she's done since then. I wouldn't shell out money to see her show either, but if someone gave me free tickets I'd probably go check it out, just to see the production.
On a side note, man she has some strong (scary, freaky) arms!!

It's my favourite Madonna's song. But i also like some of her late 90's and later songs, like Drowned world or Nothing fails (her last album not so much)
Her older stuff is still by far the best stuff she's done. However, she's done some good stuff this past decade that I really do enjoy. The last CD, Hard Candy, had a very strong R&B influence with Timberlake and Pharrell contributing on a few tracks. I liked it as R&B is prob my fave genre of music overall. I've seen her in concert a couple of times over the past few years and she always puts on a good show. It is quite an interesting divide in the crowd -- those that love and adore her older stuff and the younger crowd that really enjoys her more recent work. Most of the older crowd doesn't know or like the more recent stuff which she tends to showcase a bit more with a few of her heavy hitting classics thrown in. Each tour focuses on her last CD it seems. This tour looks to do the same. I probably won't be seeing this show when it makes it way here cuz money is pretty tight here lately. If I did go I'd probably just get nosebleed seats.
Once upon a time I died. And like my namesake I got better.
on TV on Saturday night. Well, I watched part of it. Damn, it was dreary. She didn't do a lot of singing (although she didn't appear to be lip-synching) in the hour I saw and the show was 'staged' to with an inch of its life, so if you wanted spectacle, you'd have got your money's worth.
Of course you can't compare the live experience of a concert to watching one on TV, but the TV show wasn't a great advert.
She did sing live on this tour, and all her other tours. Typically she'll put in anywhere from 1-3 lipsynched numbers, usually ones with really intricate dancing. This is the first tour that had her actually singing Vogue (except the rap) fully live.
With that said, she employs some audio editing when it comes to the DVD releases. Confessions Tour was edited similarly - with new, what seems to be, "live vocals" recorded to replace her bum notes. She hit quite a few on this tour, however, when you see it live in person, it's so loud you don't hardly notice. It's weird hearing some of her bum notes, but then being able to sit and pull off "You Must Love Me" from Evita, relatively well.
From what I've read from other fans who have been attending the new round (2009) of the tour that just kicked off, she looks alot better (she's put on some weight, finally) and also her voice is well rested so she's hitting her notes alot better. She also replaced Borderline (which had one of her worst live notes in recent years) with Dress You Up, which she seems to be pulling off with ease.
The first leg that is, the one that aired on tv, even Madonna fans (which I happen to be one) hated this show, many loved it. However the new show, which is a retooling of last years show seems to be getting great reviews from fans who hated the first leg.
I became a fan with Open Your Heart, still holding out that she will perform again it one day
Well, one of the worst aspects of the tour was the horrible retooling of Hung Up - rock version with her on guitar. She dropped it and replaced with a dance based Frozen - which you'll be happy lifts the Open Your Heart chorus for a quick bridge at the end. Sounds quite nice!
Though I like a couple of her songs, I think she looks really scary in most of the pictures, especially the last one on the second page. She should just stop wearing these tiny costumes. So sad that she is using plastic surgery to look younger. She has achieved so much, she could set a standard by doing without surgery and botox. Just like Nicole Kidman.
She actually hasn't had much surgery. She had a brow lift in 2003/2004, just before the ReInvention tour which took about 10 years off, she looked fantastic for it, as well as the confessions tour. She got more of a face-lift right before the promotion for this album started (her cheek bones were a little bloated looking) but her surgery seemed to settle right before the tour started so she looked better.
As I mentioned in another reply, she put a little bit of weight on during her break, so she's looking a lot less vascular, though her arms and hands still creep me out. She should still cover up a bit more - for the most part it's only the opening costume (4 songs) where she's wearing very little

Snicks 80s Top 100
You've piqued my curiosity, so your next post needs to be the whole list.
I'm guessing "Gypsy," "Edge of Seventeen," and "Stand Back" are battling it out for #s 1, 2, & 3?
Madonna looks great
