Interview: Musician Justin Utley
Justin Utley
Singer songwriter Justin Utley started his career as a Mormon contemporary performer and had a strong following with religious music fans up until 2006 when he became an LGBT activist and publicly broke ties with the Mormon Church. He is an outspoken critic of the LDS Church's embrace of conversion therapy, something he himselfpainfully experienced as a Mormon teen. Justin's latest album Nothing Is Real was released in November and the artist sat down with our own New Music Mix columnist Davis Mallory to discuss his music, his Mormon upbringing, his experience with ex-gay therapy and more.
