Kyle and Brian offer up a review of the movie Precious from gay director/producer Lee Daniels. Their take? It's one of the best movies of the last decade — and Mariah Carey's mustache deserves an Oscar. Check it out after the break. Submitted by on Fri, 2009-11-20 15:40. Meet Your (Honorary) Gays of the Week: The Phillips Family!
It wasn't even a contest this week as 10-year-old Will Phillips and his parents Jay and Laura demolished the competition. The family from Arkansas won 68% of the vote for young Will's refusal to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school until gays and lesbians have equal rights to marry. In a distant second with 15% is Glee's Kurt, for his scenes with his crush Finn. Even with their hot shirtless mud volleyball game, The Amazing Race's Sam and Dan could only manage 10% this week. That's what happens when you pixilate the good stuff! In last place is Noah from As The World Turns, who suffered horrible burns on his face from a fireworks accident. Oh, and he went blind. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to give him more than 7% of the vote. Thanks for your votes, and come back next Thursday as four more contenders vie for the crown. Comedian Billy Eichner has been making a name for himself in New York City for quite some time. A 2005 New York Times article called his late night fake talk show Creation Nation co-starring Robin Taylor "a theatrical phenomenon", and with subsequent appearances on Bravo's A-List Awards and The Showbiz Show with David Spade, Billy has kept bringing the funny ever since. Billy has two shows coming up at Joe's Pub in Manhattan on November 23 and 24th and we recently threw some questions at the jokester to make him bring the funny on command.
1) Rosie, Ellen, Wanda or honorary gay Kathy Griffin? Why? Submitted by on Fri, 2009-11-20 12:21. Queerview Television Guide (The Weekend of November 20, 2009)While the TV schedule is slowing down in anticipation of Thanksgiving, there's still a good amount of gay TV to check out this weekend including the second part of Riley's story on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Margaret Cho visiting the panel of The Wanda Sykes Show and The 2009 American Music Awards. And when The Amazing Race heads to the Czech Republic, how will Sam and Dan rub another team the wrong way? Submitted by on Fri, 2009-11-20 10:07. The Morning Meme (Friday, November 20, 2009)
Speaking of Adam, he's done a pair of interviews in the last 24 hours. The first is total fluff about his music and his hair with Idolator, and is probably the kind of thing a young artist on the cusp of releasing his first album should be doing. The seco Oprah is retiring from her daily talk show in 2011 after 25 years. She's hopeful with some belt tightening, her $2.3 billion will last her until she's old enough for Social Security. Or maybe she'll just start over on the television network she bought and go all Oprah, all day. Submitted by on Fri, 2009-11-20 08:53. |
