It seems as though Tommy is constantly beaten or defeated in action and response.  If he's not put down or 'corrected' by Nora, it's Holli.  He makes a great speech, but I doubt he could ever back anything up, and now with the Lena angle, B&S Producers seem to be setting him up for even more of a defeat.
