Why do those who believe that "one is born gay", and "once gay always gay",dentifying the specific causes of orientation has been elusive, no doubt. Brain chemistry is very complex.I don't have ready at my fingertips a suitable rebuttal using citations, although I did have them on the hard drive (that died) at home.
However, because I am gay, I can speak with some authority on the subject. I have spoken to literally hundreds of LGBT people. Every single one says the same thing - they were always oriented the way they are. The circumstances of their environments run the gamut - there is no apparent causality there. You can cherry pick research all you want. I know (and so do you) that the data on the subject weighs heavily against you. That's just the way it is. http://www.findbilover.com Submitted by bennet (7 points) (1 post) on Sat, 2008-01-05 13:29. |

There are two components to human sexuality. The actual biology, and the psychology. That is, we have our natural impulses, but then we have this pesky brain that has ideas about those impulses and affect those impulses while the impulses define the brain and then when you factor in societal influences you get this nifty little mobius strip of cause and effect that basically means: in general yes, for everyone? no. Is attraction to those of your same sex something that happens biologically? Yes. But the idea of human sexuality is, well, an idea. So you get a nifty gray area that exists wherein people can be whatever they want even if its not what they are (or is it? duh duh duuuuuuh).
People are dynamic and awesome, we just all need to start seeing it that. I should just leave it at that, cuz I'm ranting like a stoned college student (I am not incriminating myself, I swear).
