Even if Kieron is one of the hottest priest I have seen, ever since I heard about this story Ive had misgivings about it. Not because is wrong or that this doesnt happen, but because there is too much stigma by putting these two characters together and I worried about the way it was to be handled.
The difference will be made by the way the show decides to develop the story and that JP is not the reason Kieron cracks, that instead the priesthood is simply not his calling. Also, it works if they stay together and this doesnt become a simple trist, otherwise JP will come off as a frivolous, subversive, bedhopping gay.
At least, so far so good. They havent turned to the really scandalous route yet. I hope they treat it as a love story, but since too man variables are in play (Sutton leaving, Burnett coming back, etc) is really up in the air.
The story with Craig was handled very well, but the climatic scenes of the story where not JPs better moments and doing something scandalous in this arc will certainlly be bad for the representation of a gay character.
The overall feeling left by JP and Craig was good for the mayority, it would be a shame to ruin that for the sake of a shocking story. But then again its a soap.
