The ATWT fan forums are all abuzz about the return of Casey Hughes from prison and the arrival of his former cellmate Matt O'Connor. I think there's no question that TPTB are not in any way attempting to indicate that Casey and Matt were or are lovers, but a) it [i]is[/i] clear that actors Billy Magnussen (Casey, previously seen on Broadway in the revival of The Ritz) and Eric William Morris (Matt, who has made an immediately positive impact among fans) are, perhaps as a wink and a nod to the audience, giving some kind of indication of the nature of their previous relationship in prison and b) it's also an indication of how desperate and frustrated Nuke fans are with the show that now we're responding to any physical interaction between men on the show--Matt and Casey hugged in today's episode, which in Oakdale, of course, is gay code for kissing.
