It's another big week for the boys (and Ameera) as their story continues on Monday, Thursday and Friday's episodes next week on ATWT...

Is Ameera working with Colonel Mayer? Did they set up Luke and Noah for what went down on Thursday's show? That's the question that Lily has as she becomes suspicious of Ameera and wonders if she's not as sweet and innocent as she appears to be. Is that why Ameera is later approached and taken away by Homeland Security officers seeking to question her?

Matt and Casey, who just happen to be on the scene when this goes down (and don't understand what's going on), leap to Ameera's defense and Casey winds up getting arrested by HS. Matt, however, uses his connections (hmm......) to get Casey released. But, Ameera is still detained.

When Noah finds out, he is desperate to help her. He learns that unless the Colonel intervenes, Ameera is headed back to Iraq. Of course, the Colonel is in the slammer and can't do anything. So Noah, forced with making a sudden decision, does the only thing he thinks he can to keep her in the USA. He proposes marriage and Ameera accepts. And what about poor Luke?  Luke, of course is shocked and unhappy, but Noah insists to his boyfriend that it's Luke that he loves (nice timing, Noah!) and that he's only doing this to keep Ameera safe.

And in other ATWT news that may affect Luke and Noah depending on how the show handles things, Martha Byrne (Lily, Luke's mom), unable to come to terms with the show regarding her new contract (apparently the issue was not money, but that the actress asked for story approval and the show said no), is leaving the show and will be exit sometime in April. Rumor has it she'll be recast, but there are other rumors that the character will be killed off.

Ameera

This is beginning to be the last straw for me. While the Nuke storyline started out as so promising, it is now ridiculous. Noah proposing to marry a woman he's known for all of a week? After the watering down on the Nuke relationship I'm not sure I can stand to watch any longer.

Downward spiral

Since it looks like TPTB have sided with a small group of hate-mongers I see no reason to continue supporting ATWT. Based on various interviews given by P&G stepford executives it is evident that they are clueless regarding how much the Nuke fans have done for the show. In one interview we were even reduced to "some who like (the storyline)". Which begs the question: Do they think the ratings spike has been due to the spellbinding ventriloquist murder mystery or that riveting custody battle? Even the actors looked bored with that one. There's a reason so many of their top actors are fleeing the soap. Maybe its time the Luke & Noah fans do the same. And although I'm a little bitter toward TPTB, I have nothing but respect for Van and Jake. I hope they have a short life at ATWT and a successful career after. Meanwhile, I'll be watching TORCHWOOD, a superior show whose creators and network executives don't cower at threats made by a small group of jesus freaks.

Christmas Fantasy

I guess that Christmas Fantasy episode really did fortell the future.

Victorian Noah told Luke that he was engaged to the daughter of a family friend.

Stupid. Dumb. Ridiculous.

Stupid. Dumb. Ridiculous. Bone-headed. And did I mention stupid? Well, I'll say it again. So many impossibilities that I can't even begin to get into them. Oh well -- this show was fun while it lasted. Kind of.

Even Martha Byrne (Lily) has had enough

With all the ridiculous storylines ATWT has been throwing up (literally and figuratively), is it any wonder that Martha Byrne was asking for story approval as a condition of signing a contract extension? I guess she didn't want to continue on the current trend of absurd plots and was not-so-subtly telling the producers to wise up. Who will be next to abandon this sinking ship? And are they going to kill off all the longtime fan favourites every time the actor involved chooses to leave?

I guess this most be the drawn out love stories we hear about

Given this show's appetite for nasty storylines maybe Noah can then knock up Ameera, who will of course turn out to be his sister in a new variation of the movie Chinatown. In this version Luke will be the one slapped instead of the Faye Dunaway character.

I can already picture their baby girl as it will talk like Lilith from Frasier. Why did Luke not put Ameera and Noah in the trunk of the Aberzombies' BMW so he can get start having a life that does not revolve around the writers' continued desire to make it all about Noah, except when Noah's dad intended to use Luke for target practice as the paralysis was Luke's time to shine. NOT! Since Gwen and Will have been fired from the show, the writers should remember that the place where they live belongs to Lucinda Walsh. I think that she'd give her grandson a sweet deal on the property. Boys, boys, boys!!!!

Wow. They actually did it.

I was really REALLY hoping that all that was said about a marriage proposal would be proven wrong. I hoped that the writers would have dodged that, but I'm sorry to say I'm done. It's really dissapointing actually because I really liked Luke and Noah as a prominent TV gay couple I could watch on a regular basis, and of course I still like the actors and their characters (at least for their original intent), but this has indeed become a joke.

Also moving on...

Guess I've come to realize that I can follow the recaps on AE than actually watch the show. With this latest idiotic storyline, there's no need to tune in to the actual telecast. CBS and Proctor & Gamble's loss is AE's gain!
