CBS admits that they are just stringing the gay community along

Towleroad has a story about comments from CBS Exec Babs Bloom. She's trying her hardest to say they haven't caved to the right AND that this whole storyline is some kind of planned
piece of art...but here is the key line:

"The only thing you're going to get out of me is that the pacing is slower with Luke and Noah than it is with other romances on ATWT. But that's good storytelling. We're in the business of getting people to watch more."

That pretty much sums it up...we're using you and this storyline to get attention and ratings.

Good storytelling? Three couples on that show just started relationships on that show in the past two months...they've been shown in bed together and I'm reading that two of the couples are going to get married. But Luke and Noah...that's slow and good storytelling? Bullshit. Any gay person that still watches this show is suffereing from battered spouse syndrome...it's just that one time, he didn't mean it...I'll go back and things will be different...

Just a note...

We published this story with that quote last week in the Best Gay Week Ever column.

I think we knew.

Next week Jack and Carly kiss.  Friday they said they were going to try to be just friends.  I guess friends with benefits.  Noah and Luke love each other and they can only pat each other.  I think this was obvious.  If they are going to kiss ever again give us an idea.  This Ameera storyline is worse than 2 guys kissing.  Keep Noah and Luke ditch the writers or the excuses and come clean.

Boycott ATWT?

I read in THE ADVOCATE recently (don't quote me) that ATWT viewership is up something like 50% as a result of the Nuke storyline...

Why don't all us gays stop watching the show (if we haven't already) and when CBS sees the ratings plummet, perhpas they'll get off the proverbial pot?

Of course, I don't live in a Nielsen Household...  Do you?

Over Nuke

I've stopped watching ATWT as of the "Valentine's Day Massacre," as I call that farce of an episode. I have also successfully purged all Proctor & Gamble products from my home. The latter wasn't as problematic as I thought it would be. There are a great many more environmentally-friendly products out there that work as well or better than the P&G products. I urge all LGBT families to follow suit since that's probably the only way to effect any change in the blatant homophobia displayed by CBS daytime and Proctor & Gamble.

Boycott?

I agree, but I didn't think I would be boycotting P&G completely.

So, what products did you used to use and what have you switched to?
