WARNING! YouTube Torchwood Season 2 Spoilers!

Where do I begin? I am shocked and stunned. I was drawn to watching the complete final episode on YouTube and my stomach sank as I watched the events unfold. I understand the writers manipulating us weekly - but why this? Ending the season with such emotional heartbreak - not the mention the deaths - I am furious. It's been years since I have openly wept over a television show.

If there are any other TORCHWOOD fans out there in the world who have already watched the finale of season 2 - I am open to some grief intervention.

I watched it too...

I was on youtube last week and ended up watching "Exit Wounds" last week. I was in shock about the show too. I was quite upset by what happened...I almost cried at the end of the episode. I don't know how to go on after watching the episode.

But they did a great job casting Grey (the actor is almost as hot as John Barrowman)

DON'T READ: Torchwood Spoilers

I know!  I'm truly upset about Tosh.  Admittedly less so about Owen.

But my understanding is that Burn and Naoko wanted to move on, or so the rumor mill had said.  Then again, the same mill said that Jack will only be a part-timer next series.

All of this said, I do think that maybe a re-balancing was needed.  Tosh was being so badly under-utilized, hence all the sniggering at the "You're making it worse!" line she made to Gwen in Fragments.  I couldn't agree more.  I would have preferred a final lineup of Jack/Ianto/Tosh, but I guess we can't all get what we want.

Owen was no surprise really.  I mean, come on, a walking corpse that cannot heal from any injury?  That couldn't last long in their line of work. It seemed clear that he had one foot in the grave so to speak.

Now, had Gwen bit the big one I would have been dancing in front of PC.  But again, you can't get what you want. Although word is we'll get Martha next series, which would be a step up.  She had such great chemistry with Jack and Ianto (and seemed successful at keeping Gwen in her proper place).

It was very sad though.  But I think they felt they needed to go big after series one's rather cheesy finale.  The whole Abaddon thing fell kind of flat, especially since it was one of those "and everything was fine the next day and nobody remembered" kind of things.

They clearly wanted to put some serious drama into Exit Wounds.  I remember shuddering as the bombs went off all across Cardiff.  And John Barrowman did such a great job, Jack's normally cocky facade collapsing into near-hysterics at seeing the explosions across the city.  He had the posture, facial expressions and tone of voice (which I'd never heard Jack use before) down.

Despite my usual anti-Gwen thing I have to say that Eve did a great job too.  But it was Naoko's performance that really shone through.  Given her ability it's sad she wasn't used more.  Burn managed great dignity for Owen.  Gareth did an excellent job with emotions from rage to sorrow, especially when he was closing out their logins.

It was a dramatic ending too, and I'll assume designed so that they could either continue the show or end it from there.  Jack, Ianto and Gwen all huddled together in the Hub, broken-hearted but not giving up.  Awesome!

I cried so hard during watching the

last few mintues,I`am ashamed to admit it.But it is no doubt one of the strongest episodes of the whole show.

agreed

I was completely shocked by the ending. I even teared up a bit. I have felt such a connection with the characters that it was hard to see that episode. I guess that means the writers did an amazing job. Bravo to them. I wonder what will happen next season.

I was also able to watch the season 2 finale via, um, alternate sources on the internet.

It's amazing what can be accomplished starting with a good script. Although there were some parts that seemed rushed, overall it was a very powerful episode indeed. I never felt the series had developed the Tosh-Owen relationship particularly well but the final scenes with them were touching and poignant. I'll miss them.

The Torchwood Declassified instalment that accompanies this episode provides some additional behind-the-scenes footage about the making of this season ender.

But there's no time to be sad. I've already switched over to the first couple of episodes of the new season of Doctor Who. Two eps in, and the series has already upped the ante from previous seasons.

Thanks for the heads up

I'm so weak about spoilers.

Just had to read the spoilers and actually I'm glad that I did it. I'm such a fan of Tosh that I needed to know what was going to happen so that I can steel myself for when I watch the download. Owen is not a surprise, just how long could you keep him undamaged ? Surprised that they let him survive the bombing of Fragments.

torchwood finale

the final episode of torchwood was shown in england about two weeks ago and it was so emotional. i had seen john barrowman on a tv interview ealier that day and he warned the viewers that it was upsetting and he sure wasnt wrong. he said that he and some other cast members could only do one take because they found it so upsetting.

i really cant wait for the third seires to start but im not sure what to expect from it. will they bring in a new love interest fro cap'n jack or ianto???

will we get to see jack and ianto actually playing naked hide and seek???

the possibilities are endless....

well almost!!

Torchwood spoilers:

I must admit being affected at the end by Toshs demise. Even felt sorry for Owen.

Everyone was great in this episode. It had a very good pace, exactly what a season finale should be. James Marsters was masterfull, as always. When I saw the previews I thouhgt: "Hell hath no fury like a time agent scorned" and that was quite a nice and unexpected twist they put on things.

Lets hope that the changes bring us a better show next season.

I warned everyone in a post last week but.............

No!  No one ever listens to Mikey.

Don't trouble yourself Doctor -- I'm a celebrity, I'll write my own prescription.

dang....

I just finished watching it on youtube. Tosh's computer message or whatever was the only scene that really got to me. *sigh* so sad. :-(

ironic thing....I am not sad that gwen remains. Maybe it's a delayed reaction that i will experience later. :-P

It's A Heartbreaker...

When I watched this I was so stunned by Tosh getting shot that I stopped the vid and did something else for an hour 'cause I couldn't wrap my mind around it. I kept thinking they would find her in time. When they didn't, I sat here at my desk in tears. And I had hopes that Owen would somehow survive. Of course, we didn't actually see what happened to him. Who knows?

I had a feeling someone was going to die, but I thought it would be Rhys. I couldn't believe we lost two of the Hubbies. I was watching the timer on the video and thinking there was time and something was going to save one of them, but time passed and nothing did.

It will be interesting to see what direction they will be going next season. Like I told my other friend who watched "Exit Wounds", sometimes you have to get rid of a character to be able to change direction. It's just the nature of the show.

There are a lot of rumours about what's going to happen next season.  But all we can do is wait and see. In the meantime, there's Doctor Who season 4 and the Sarah Jane Adventures on SciFi (actually it's kind of cute)

Peace, Joy and Love
