Penis-Snatching Anyone?Ever heard of Penis-snatching? No, not the kind that Filipina, Lorena Bobbit, did to her husband years ago. Nor is it the same kind as that recent incident in the Philippines when a woman cut off her husband’s dick because of jealousy. We’re talking about penises completely disappearing or shrinking.
Reuters reported yesterday that police in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, have arrested 13 sorcerers suspected of, well, stealing and/or shrinking penises. Stealing of body parts is not uncommon in West Africa and this alleged traditional and religious practice is still widespread. The victims, who were also detained by the police, claimed that the sorcerers merely touched them, which caused their penises to either shrink or disappear. What does "Filipina" have anything to do with describing Lorena Bobbit unless you mean to imply cutting off men's penises is a trait of the culture's women since you mentioned an incident in the Philippines as well? Lorena's name alone is more than enough to recall her infamy.
Lorena is a native of Ecuador. I do not know if she's of Filipina decent, do you?

It makes me think. Hope, (that we don't fall into another dark ages) that one day they will look back on an incident like this and be able to say, "the last time someone was tried in the Democratic Republic of Congo for sorcery was in...".
