Gareth David-Lloyd and James Marsters at The Rift

Sadly, I wasn't able to go (wrong country), but today there was an event in London called The Rift, essentially a Torchwood convention. GDL and James Marsters were both in attendance for autographs, Q&A, etc.

Why am I, who was not there, posting about it? Well, someone posted a video clip in a GDL community I belong to, in which the boys were asked who would win in a fight, Ianto or Capt. John. JM immediately conceded the fight to Ianto. Gareth, however, countered that he didn't think they'd fight at all; rather, he said, it would be closer to "Can I have two Captains with a Ianto filling, please?" to the whoops of the crowd, following it up with, "Wouldn't it? Yeah. Toasty."

That's the sort of mental imagery I would be cruel to keep to myself.

Kai Owen had every understudy's dream come true.  When James Marsters got too sick to do the concert, he was called in at the last moment to entertain the crowd with old songs and jokes.  He got several standing ovations, then GDL joined him for some filthy versions of rock standards.  Here's 3 clips from Kai's improv routine and 2 clips from John Barrowman's latest concert http://www.youtube.com/user/fairyd123

2 more clips from James' and Gareth's joint Q&A and 4 more clips from Kai's improv http://www.youtube.com/user/ir0nickid

I can't imagine a nicer group of entertainers.
