Here's the latest episode of InTurn featuring Van and Jake as judges where the actors play a scene similar to Luke and Noah's first kiss.

very professional
Van and Jake were great and very professional as judges. I completely agreed with them and the other judge about all the performances.
It was great, albeit slightly ironic, to see a tribute to Luke and Noah's first kiss. I was disappointed that more of the couples didn't do better. The two women were great together, though.
Masculinity
Wasn't crazy about the one guy's comment on even guys "secure in their masculinity" possibly having issues w/ same-sex kissing scenes.
He should have just said secure in their sexuality, if he had to say either. Not feeling him.
masculinity...
Well, it turns out that Peyton, the guy who made that comment, is the one who got eliminated: http://www.cbs.com/originals/inturn3/video/video.php?cid=712235899&pid=bZtOD7ygAw6sbRQo2rk2Z6f_UuT11HTL&play=true&cc=0
I guess whatever beliefs/emotiosn made him utter that sentence also caused him to be stiff during the scene, and that's what got him cut. Actually, he did mention the guy/guy kissing as an obstacle to acting well, and Christopher Goutman shot that down, which was nice.
Oh, man
I didn't even know they had shown the follow-up episode yet.
I'll go check it out now.
UPDATE: Did you notice Noah's little wry facial expression/head turn when Peyton + Mike kissed in the prior episode? haha
It was a little odd. I'm not sure if he just thought the kiss was bad or wanted an excuse to look away. Also, Peyton deserved to go, as he did. He was cute, but stiff in his scene. I'm not even counting his "masculinity" comment, b/c that's a personal thing, but it didn't exactly win me over.
Jake's expression
I think I had the exact same reaction as Jake (Noah) when Peyton and Michael kissed. He looked like he was thinking "what the heck?" Both Jake and Van were polite and gave constructive feedback, but I don't think they were impressed by that scene.
Interesting kiss audition episode
Just watched the kiss audition, featuring guest judges Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann. I thought the episode was pretty interesting and all the judges gave very insightful critiques. Neither Van nor Jake held back from pointing out what they felt were flaws.
I also had a bit of a WTF-type reaction when Peyton went in for the kiss with Michael like he was bobbing for apples. Jake's expression when he looked over at Van was priceless.
It seemed like Chris Goutman didn't really have a preference which one of these two to boot after their scene but gave them each the opportunity to eliminate himself with his own words. Ultimately, it probably came down to which one seemed to display the more arrogant attitude that "he did great" despite all the problems pointed out to them. I think Peyton could have saved himself if he had admitted he had no clue how to approach doing this kiss but was willing to learn from his mistakes and promised to work hard to improve.
Agreed
I think you might be right about Chris G's reasoning for giving him the boot. While neither guy was stellar in the scene, Peyton couldn't seem to find the words to convincingly move Chris to keep him instead of Mike.
I'm not a huge fan of Mike's either, to be honest. He seems pretty cocky. We'll see how much longer he lasts, though.
