Luke and Noah will be on the Monday, May 12th episode. Here's a preview of the episode.

I'll just comment by saying I think what Noah does in this clip might be the cruelest thing he's ever done to Luke.

Cruelty
Yeah, though I like the look on Jake's face when Noah realizes what he's just said to Luke. It's just far enough off his usual pained expression to underscore the realization.
That said, it's looking like things are ramping to a conclusion ... as quickly as anything in a soap opera ramps, really.

I Hate This Storyline
I want Noah and that Ameera girl out of the picture and find Luke a guy who'll stand by him instead of turning on him.
Luke deserves so much better than that.
My computer won't play
Noah: You're imagining some
Luke: It's not obvious. And if you weren't trying so hard to make up for your father's past mistakes you would be able to see that.
Noah: So you're saying I'm in denial? Luke. I know what kind of man my father is.
Luke: Sure. But you're trying to cover for what he did and giving Ameera way too much benefit of the doubt.
Noah: Maybe this is not about me being in denial. Maybe this is about you being jealous.
Luke: Jealous? Of Ameera?
Noah: Come on. Tell me it wouldn't make you happy if we would split up.
Luke: You're not together!
Noah: You know what I mean.
Luke: Do you?
Noah: Ameera is not involved in some scheme with my father. That's not like her.
Luke: Wait- wait, how do you know what she's like? Noah. You know nothing about this girl. She has no family. She has no past. She's a total mystery to you. How do you know what she's doing in order to survive?
Noah: Because she is my wife!
Luke: And what am I? Some jerk who is just trying to mess with your perfect little marriage?
Ouch!
Definitely cruel.
alright, i gotta admit....
I am so sick of Noah and his blind as a bat ways.
"because she's my wife"
^ really now? someone needs to slap this mofo hard with something called....um, reality? goodness.
Time for a New Boyfriend!
Noah: Because she is my wife!
Luke: And what am I? Some jerk who is just trying to mess with your perfect little marriage?
No, no, no Luke! The correct response should have been.
"That's right, you keep saying that. So you can have, but you can't have me. Now get the f*ck out of my grandmother's property and take your wife with you!"
Honestly Luk, I know that you live in the Midwest but this isn't the 50's! The days when it was acceptable for gay men to marry women and have their relationships with their male partners on the side is over!
I once blew off a perfectly attractive boyfriend because he started talking about marrying a woman to appease his Asian parents! Immediate end, dates over, don't talk to me. In this day and age the threshold is different.
How are we supposed to relate to and sympathize with Luke as a character when he's such a willing victim? How are we supposed to relate to and sympathize with Noah when he's both an idiot and a jerk?
I thought that the whole idea was that we're supposed to like these characters so that we can feel for them and want them to overcome their travails? Isn't that the soap opera supercouple paradigm? But these guys don't make me feel anything but contempt for them, which is pretty far from what I think I'm supposed to be feeling.
Noah is beyond being an idiot and a jerk!
Once again, my buddy Psionyck has hit the nail on the head with this pathethic Puke couple. Wimpy Luke should have dropkicked ignorant Noah and Ameera to the curb long ago. There is no way one could sympathize with Ms. Wimpy when brain-dead Noah continually uses him as the proverbial doormat when it comes to his "wife." All I have felt for Puke over the past few months has been contempt with the dumbest writers in the galaxy steering this trainwreck of a storyline. I certainly would NEVER put up with such crap from a boyfriend like Ms. Wimpy and doubtful anyone else would either. Aspects of this storyline seem like Victorian England!
The only reason I'm watching this sappy soap is totally for Billy Magnusson who is definitely outshining Van and Jake in his portrayal of Casey. He has done a complete 360 on his character. Now if these ignorant writers will just hook him up with mouth watering Matt, Puke would fade like an evening sunset. It's obvious that Casey is gonna be running around in his undies next week when he plays stud puppy to Jokedale's finest harlot; Emily! Yummmmmmmmy!
Noah needs to be beaten
Seriously, if I were Luke I probably would have punched Noah's lights out for daring to speak those words to my face! Since Luke is a wimp however I would settle for him throwing Noah and Ameera off the property. Then getting Grandma to get them tossed out of Oakdale U.
Why the AFA is complaining I don't know, because it's obvious that Noah cares about Ameera a lot more than he cares about Luke. Indeed, I'd say he's just a few episodes away from consumating his marriage at this point.
Even watching this as sporadically as I do (because I cannot stomach it regularly) I don't get where the writers are coming from here. Am I supposed to want Luke and Noah to wind up together? Because to be completely honest right now I don't.
Noah is being depicted as, to a large extent, savoring his "normal" marriage to Ameera with Luke as a side dish. He is frequently condescending, or in the case of this preview outright contemptuous, towards Luke. He also seems sexually ambivalent, hinting that he might just start having sex with Ameera. Keep in mind here that he's not had sex with Luke or any other man so the whole "gay" thing is an open question.
At this point I would rather that they simply be gone from the show. It's not just the lack of kissing or sex. They really are not even remotely close to being a positive depiction of a gay couple. Indeed, Noah almost reinforces the claim that gays secretly yearn to live, and can live, "normal" heterosexual lives if they really "want" to and that it's only their own willfullness that prevents that.
There's been no question since Ameera showed up that Luke is #2 (at best) in Noah's life. His absolute adoration of her and determination to defend her against any suggestions of wrongdoing make it clear where his loyalties lie and what he really wants. And it isn't Luke!
This is practically becoming an "ex-gay" storyline!
Well said Psionycx. To be
Well said Psionycx. To be honest, I threw in the towel on the Luke and Noah storyline after the mistletoe insult. I only watch some of the clips when they are posted on this site.
The storyline just gets more and more embarrassing. And the sad thing is it continues to get unearned praise and publicity. I actually was surfing channels the other day and stopped on LOGO because Afterelton was being given a mention regarding Luke and Noah and the time clock run on their none kissing. LOGO was interviewing Van and Jake, and it was as though they were starring in the greatest gay love story ever shown on TV. Someone watching this interview who had not been exposed to the Luke and Noah storyline would think their few kisses on ATWT spread out over eight months was of a monumental event. The interviewer even mentioned how the whole world appeared to be interested in this storylline, referring to a channel in Europe somewhere because they mentioned about the Hersheys kiss campaign to get the guys to kiss. New flash...if the rest of the world are watching, it's at this debacle of what is suppose to be a love story between two guys; and they'll having a good old laugh at it.
Van and Jake looked so proud has though they really believed their own hype. They even joked about who would be getting an Emmy nomination. Of course, we now now Van got one, but note the storyline itself came away empty. But please..in my opinion, this is one of the most poorly written, produced and acted gay storylines i've seen on TV. I mean really...some of the European stoylines we're now being prevy too puts this Luke, Noah and Ameera comedy show to shame.
B&S puts ATWT to shame!
Forget Europe! Brothers & Sisters is doing a much better job with Kevin all along, and now his and Scotty's impending union, than ATWT has ever done with Luke & Noah.
Now I know it's unfair to compare the more professional world of nighttime dramas with the relatively amateurish world of daytime soaps, but the differences are so glaring it's astonishing.
Of course, we have only ourselves, or perhaps more accurately GLAAD, to blame. They fuelled the already nauseatingly self-congratulatory back-patting that has been going at P&G. I honestly can't say what, exactly, Van Hansis has done to merit a daytime Emmy. He's pretty much had the same facial expression plastered on Luke's face for roughly 5 or 6 months now. Granted he can't take all the blame given the scripts he's being handed, but still...
While I thought originally that they were a cute love story I don't think it can be fairly argued that they're "groundbreaking" in any way. They're joining the party long after cable, primetime and even teen dramas like friggin' Degrassi have already been over the gay turf. The fact that their genre has been a laggard and only just recently got around to putting a half-hearted attempt at a gay relationship onscreen is hardly cause for acclamations of courage and innovation. Ironically, they're being praised for being the last major TV genre to enter the field!
That being the case, I see no reason to praise bad writing. ATWT is not doing anything heroic here. I just think they tried this storyline in the hopes of stimulating their stagnant show with it's heaping pile of tired cliches so as to attract younger viewers. But instead, afraid of the disapproval of letter-writing pundits who probably don't even watch the show anyway, they've been eschewing innovation and instead cranking out trash that sucks even worse than usual.
Maybe daytime really is a dinosaur that will make it's way towards extinction simply because it refuses to keep up with the rest of the programming that's out there. Regardless, I don't think they merit praise for half-hearted gestures.
Back in the day.
This is the last straw!
After all the time and effort Luke has invested in Noah -- AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN HAD SEX WITH EACH OTHER !! -- this is what he gets.
I say dump him and go for Casey --who's laying about shirtless and neglected.
Luke too gurly for Casey
What's the point of speculating about Casey?
I wouldn't be too quick with that BobbyBaby...
Ah, Matt, man of my dreams
...I've pretty nearly given up on ATWT, given the tripe-tastic writing, especially for the Nuke s/l, but if TPTB brought Matt back, I'd be glued to the set every day. I wish they WOULD have Matt pining after Casey...especially with the chemistry between Billy Magnussen and Eric William Morris (and, yeah, that last scene between them was totally played as if they were ex-lovers)...but, if rumors are to be believed, if Matt does come back, it will be for Alison.
