GAY PRIDE BRUSSELS 17 May 2008

Today was Brussels' 13th Gay Pride. And it wasn't raining! Main theme was 'diversity'! Even though Belgium is one of the lead countries in Gay rights equality (wedding and adoption are legal), there are still outstanding demands. The Gay population of Belgium is fighting against homophobia (a recent article showed that it is still very much present especially in schools among youngsters) and against prison punishment and worse in one third of all UN countries.

Was present in the streets of Brussels Gilbert Barker - the inventor of the rainbow flag 30 years ago.
