- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Luke and Noah go and get Ameera out of police custody, but they are stopped by Livia (played by Nell Mooney, an InTurn contestant) and Agent Ben Coyle, who we already know is working for Col. Mayer. They dupe Luke and Noah into helping turn over Ameera to Win under the guise of capturing the Colonel. Noah goes off with the bad cops to pull off the plan. Luke wants to help but the dirty cops knock him out cold. Later, at the pier, Noah, upon seeing that papers are being exchanged for Ameera, and that Ameera is being whisked away with the Colonel, jumps on board the boat they are using to escape to rescue her. Meanwhile, Luke, realizing they've been tricked, enlists the help of the real Ben Coyle (played by InTurn contestant Justin Smith) and his grandmother Lucinda to save his boyfriend and his wife. Back on the boat, Noah tries to get his father to give up and just as he's about to do so, he hears the police closing in and jumps overboard. Noah is upset about the possbility that is father might be dead. And when Ameera's future is placed in jeapordy again, it's too much for Noah to handle and he turns on Luke. Luke realizes Noah blames him for everything.

LMAO, WHAT????
noah really is an idiot. my god, the man can't decide whether to be on luke's side or whether to constantly blame him and accuse him of stuff.
god, i am surpried this show has not turned people into alcoholics. :-P
LMAO, WHAT????
Well I stopped drinking a little over a year ago but I'm about to reconsider!
well, as far as conflicts go
As far as conflicts go, this is one of the more realistic ones. If Noah loves Ameera like a sister, he would feel protective of her and be angry that Luke doesn't also feel the same way. Luke's actions may have been rational, but Noah would be upset that Luke didn't have that same "protect my family" instinct about Ameera, especially since Noah has bonded to Luke's family and sees the Snyder as a substitute for his own father. I guess he would want both of his families to care for each other as much as he cares for them.
Some of the other conflicts Luke and Noah had in the past were kind of silly. For example, back when Luke was temparalysed, he once broke up with Noah for being too understanding of him or something. That was kind of silly. But this is a conflict I could believe.
Noah is not "Luke's brother".
Luke Needs New Boyfriend
Keep Noah !
Yep, Luke and Noah should break up.
Luke has become a doormat for Noah's mood swings and it's time a new guy were introduced to really create some genuine tension in their relationship. A gay romantic triangle--assuming it's well-written, which is not something one can assume with this show--might be a way to bring back disillusioned fans.

If I were writing the show
Honey, they can't write TWO
Hey, I said if I were
Hey, I said if I were writing the show. :)
I didn't say THEY could pull it off!
Luke needs a boyfriend. Period.
I still don't believe Luke and Noah have anything more than a boyhood crush. They act like 10 year olds who haven't been told what their pee-pee is for. Luke is still a virgin for gosh sakes and you want to see a triangle, first? What like an Archie's comic?
I just don't see how you can have a romantic triangle without first having a romantic duet.
There hasn't been enough of a romance for me to believe that they are truly committed to each other any more than I was committed to my goldfish that died when I was 8 years old. Yes, I cried, but because I was a child not because I had found any deep fulfilling love. If Noah left the show next week, I wouldn't feel sorry for Luke even if he did mourn the loss. They could get rid of Noah and give Luke a teddy bear, which I believe the AFA would allow him to freely kiss even if he named the bear Bruce.
.
Yes, you are totally right on this...
...the only thing that could salvage this story line at this point is to have all the things that have kept Luke and Noah apart vanish. Let them have a passionate love affair, move in together, start on their picket fence future, get the fans invested in them. Then have the soapy thing happen and have one of them stray, or someone else gets involved with them under false pretenses, messing with their relationship just like every other soap couple that marries and divorces 5 times (to each other). Making them a "super" couple first then give them all the angst and disruption that can possibly happen to a couple and that will keep the viewers going. And drag it out, for pete's sake. But in a good and interesting way. When I was young I have never been invested in a story so much as I was in GH's Luke and Laura. That took AGES. It went on and on and I never missed an episode. Who can forget the scene when they were on the road and forced to sleep in the same bed with a blanket suspended between them. Or when Luke came back (after many months) and Laura runs out into the yard into his arms. If Luke and Noah did a love story like that, that show would be no.1. It's a brave new world (but apparently only for us viewers).
I say we take the warning labels off everything and let nature take it's course.
You're Completely Right About Nuke
The issue all along with this Ameera storyline (aside from it being incredibly cheesy and derivative) is that they haven't yet established Nuke as a real couple yet. They act like freshmen in high school rather than in college!
Thus there's no gravity to their relationship. They're not even really lovers per se. So what is at risk if they're torn apart?
Absolutely nothing.
Rather than devoting any time to building a case as to why their relationship is significant we've jumped ahead to the later soap stage of "love triangle" before we've even fully established a love connection. If anything we've been left wondering why Luke hasn't dumped Noah yet over this whole Ameera deal. It's not like their relationship is all that developed. Indeed, Noah's been a bit of an asshole with this whole Ameera deal as it is.
They should have hooked Luke up with the evil dummy.
The Dummy!
The Dummy!
Yup...break them up...fire the writers also.
It's not just that Luke deserves more and needs a new bf who will care about him...we need a better story.
At this point I feel bad for the actors. I'm sure they mean well and want to have characters that are interesting, liked and have a lasting impact...but these are not such characters.
I suggest that Luke go on vacation...to Germany...maybe take up boxing. Or a little R&R in the UK compliments of granny Snyder.
WTF? Daddy Dearest escapes yet again?
I can't believe that this Puke storyline gets dumber and dumber.
"Noah jumps aboard a speeding boat to rescue Ameera, again in the clutches of his father?" This from studly Noah who folds after one punch to the gut from Daddy Dearest yesterday?
Daddy Dearest escapes yet again? You gotta be kidding me! How incompetent are the police with slippery Daddy D?
Once again Noah blames Luke for wifey's arrest/abduction/sad attitude? I say it's past time to get rid of this loser Ms. Luke-etta. With all the hotties running around Times Square, you gotta deal with Psycho Jr.? Don't think so...
This storyline is sinking further into the proverbial toilet!
Spoilers not always so accurate.
Just to make things more
Just to make things more interesting or more confusing or maybe just batsh*t crazy, there is supposed to be a spoiler in the Cindi Lauper interview with ET of something regarding her appearance on ATWT and now it seems that dear Noah may be or may have, ...wait for it ... joined the Army!
My God, I'm so glad I prefer Verbotene Liebe!
"You bit the hand, Marty, You bit the hand!"
The Army thing scares
The Army thing scares me.... if for no other reason that it doesn't allow the guys to reunite and actually come together with a realtionship.
Now I wonder if Jake is not going to be asked to stay around. That would really suck.
I saw that, too. Does that
Lauper
The interview is on youtube and it sounds like she's there to inspire 'true love' (how Moulin Rouge) She said her part is to teach them that you may only have one chance at 'true love' and it shouldn't be squandered.
I believe Noah says he's joining but his mind could be changed.
On another subject:
Ameera became a demanding b*tch right from the start. She didn't feel right getting married in a church, she told Casy he should mind his own business when he told her she couldn't change Noah's sexual preferences, she would cry everytime she asked Noah if he really loved Luke and the response was YES, she cried when he reminded her that the marriage was in name only. She plays that guilt sh*t out all too well. I'm glad the actress' contract hasn't been extended hopefully meaning this character and her coniving are done. (this by no means wishes any ill-will to the actress. She is beautiful and obviously talented or I wouldn't hate her character so much).
There's not enough red wine in the world!!!!!!!!!
Noah in the army???
Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Well at least he has an incarcerated mail order bride to help cover up his sexual orientation. Because the last time I checked active homosexuals still aren't allowed to serve in the U.S. military. Then again, he is a gay virgin, so his "homosexuality" is really just hypothetical at this point anyway.
Honestly, it sounds like a way to write him off the show regardless. Unless there's a military base on Oakdale along with all the other major urban elements it has.
That's okay. it's already been established that Oakdale U has enough of a gay student body to have a gay group. Start bringing on the new boyfriend candidates for Luke! There's got to be at least one that doesn't have a psychotic parent or a penchant for marrying illegal immigrant women.
They'll turn Nuke into a forbidden love (tm)
If Noah is in the military don't ask don't tell style that would give them an excuse to just continue the existing pattern of constantly ducking and looking across their should that somebody find see them kiss. ICE is watching becomes Army is watching.
But really, it makes no sense at all. Why would the military want to blackmail a gay Noah who to our knowledge doesn't really have any interesting special skills. And why would Luke agree to sit through yet another secret relationship scheme? Naw, I can't picture them going for it.
I'm gonna go with whoever said that maybe Noah signs or is tempted to sign but then decides against it so they have some drama they can show in the Cindy Lauper episode where the lovers poignantly change their minds when they listen to the life-changing song. And that is assuming that the line really is about Noah rather than being a joke or something.
This *IS* ATWT
With all the bizarre plots they come up with up who knows? Maybe Noah is the product of some kind of "super-soldier" program and was raised from birth for some special mission that his film geekiness (now apparently cured) and homosexuality (cure pending) are interfering with?
The scary part is that I can actually imagine ATWT writers doing this.
This Bat Crazy storyline is so confusing....
I have never witnessed such a slow motion train wreck as the whole NUKE storyline has become....even without Ameera and all that bat crazy bullsh*t. I swear I watch the clips that are on here after the liveblog just to see how much more crazy this whole story can go...and it's so badly written....
And yes...I think Luke should dump Noah too.....what could have been the gay romance of 2008 has turned into trash and it ain't gonna get any betta.
Eureka moment
Okay, I had a eureka moment. Maybe TIIC are splitting Luke and Noah up for awhile as a way to reboot the whole relationship. Perhaps Noah will pick up a few brain cells during his time out from Luke and become a real boyfriend to Luke.
You never know they might be trying to fix this mess. Can you tell that I really like these two guys together? I can't let go.
Army?
Let's Not Say Goodbye Yet!
The SOW Editor Says.....
that Jake Silbermann is not leaving. So this military thing is another plot twist, it seems. She also says that the stories are going to become more intertwined and integrated so you won't have Luke in New York for well over a week chasing after the man who tried to kill him while Holden and Lily continue pointless squabbles about their marriage.
Context
Regarding all this talk about the army, maybe we should see the show first before we react to the development. Context is everything, and we don't know what that context is. How often have you seen a preview or spoiler for something that hinted at something, but the reality was entirely different?
Re: Context
I understand what you are saying. A very reasonable premise.
I am starting to wonder if releasing spoilers and clips to the fans is such a good thing. There are a lot of people who are bent out of shape regarding this possible new development well before anything has aired.
Spoilers
I agree with you about spoilers. It seems as if they are releasing them too often. I don't remember spoilers like this back in the haydays of Soaps(back when I actually watched every soap I could - 80's). Course, it is also part of the spoilers to bring viewers in and if the spoiler actually increases the conversation then that might be in the soap's favor. But, given the amount of ennui?, dislike? of the Nuke s/l in general, this just might backfire and completely turn off a lot of loyalists who are sticking thru for what they expect will be their big payoff for staying with ATWT and TIIC!
