Work Out and The Real World - Micro gay-caps

WORK-OUT: Has anybody been watching Work Out this season? I watched all the season-to-date episodes last night and I think that they've been sub-par in every respect as Jackie Warner has become even more annoying and self-involved than beauty school/wanna-be rebel Jonathan Antin from Bravo's own Blow Out. But at least Jackie is a lesbian titan and the show has gay trainer Jesse, gay masseur/new-trainer JD Jordan. On last night's show Jesse (an elder statesman on the show these days) set up JD with one of his friends. We got to go on their date and it was quite fun. Unlike in ATWT, JD offered to walk his date to his car, gave him a hug, and even though he was geeking out about whether to kiss him or not, they made out like grown men with sexy lips. JD stated that there would likely be a second date. Gay men dating on TV!!!!!

THE REAL WORLD HOLLYWOOD: As everyone must know by now, this show is not even trashy fun. It's tragic, desperate, and depressing. I caught last week's show and while there are no out gay men on it, I only bring it up in this space as the beautiful words "FAGGOT" were uttered repeatedly during a multiperson argument. Even though the user of the word was removed from the premises for the night and he and his bud were sent to "Anger Management" classes, everything under the sun was addressed except the use of "FAGGOT" that his dead father would be ashamed of. Every single parent who had anything to do with bringing into the world anyone on this edition of the show has ample reason for being ashamed.

I can't see how gay-inclusive MTV let that one ride, but the bar seems to have reached a new low as this cast includes a girl with an eating disorder that latest over 10 years, a meth addict/stripper who has been clean for less than 2 months, a current and heavy abuser of cocaine/alcohol/steroids who gets shipped off to VH1's Dr. Drew for 30 days, and ..... you get the picture. MTV should really reconsider how low it goes as casting substance addicts in a perpetual frat party can't even be spinned into anything but opportunistic abuse, even if they squeezed out all the necessary legal clearances..
