ATWT -- Luke/Noah SPOILERS For the Week of June 30th - NOW WITH FRESH SPOILERS!SPOILER SPACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Luke and Noah will air on Thursday, July 3rd and here's what's up.... It's Oakdale's first Gay Pride Day (some mags are saying it's Gay Pride Week) and Cyndi Lauper is performing at Yo's. Luke is interviewing her for the school paper (I think it's funny how everyone one of school age on this show is going to summer school). Noah shows up at the event, with Reg's ex-boyfriend Tony as his date. Of course, Luke is hurt by this. Cyndi senses the tension and asks what's wrong and Luke tells her everything and the two bond. Noah leaves with Tony then returns in time to see Cyndi sing 'True Colors', which she has dedicated to Luke. After the song, Luke introduces Cyndi to Noah and she encourages the boys to work things out and not give up in their relationship. Luke and Noah go outside and they share a kiss and Noah tells Luke he loves him. But he then says he feels as if he doesn't belong in Oakdale anymore and plans on joining the Army. In SOW, Jake Silbermann (Noah) says that Luke and Noah have some tough times ahead of them.

crossing my fingers
omg
that would be something eh? would the Noah claws come out to fight for Luke??
time will tell.....
Keep "Nuke"!
Keep "Nuke"!
how romantic....awww
thank god he is coming around. :-D
....UGH
My head is spinning...
Uh, Noah, just to clue you in...they don't actually want gays in the Army.
Also, does it qualify as emotionally manipulative to tell someone that you love them and then announce that you're planning to leave them? Or does Oakdale have an Army base among it's many surprising "small town" amenities?
Agree
I don't see how someone can say that they love you and just leave.... My theory is that he says key word "says" that dosen't mean he is going into the Army... So I think that after Cyndi comes on the show Noah throws the whole Army thing out the window and Nuke gets back together....
But Ya for a "Small Town" they do have alot of variety on stores.
Indeed
Plus skyscrapers, a major hospital, a university, an airport....
This story is beginning to hinge just a trifle too much I Cyndi Lauper. Don't get me wrong, I've loved her in the 80's like everyone else who watched WWF pro wrestling.
Now personally, if I were Luke I'd offer to send Noah care packages in Afghanistan, Iraq, Hell or wherever else he gets shipped off to. Then I'd turn around, grab Reg and head for the nearest hot tub to release eight months of pent up tension. One more month and it should have built up to the point where Luke could give birth to a baby!
Maybe I'm a cynic. But how Luke can put up with the cr@p that flows out of Noah's mouth without punching him astounds me.
You Are A Cynic, But....
... you're sooooo right.
After everything else he's done to Luke, Noah says 'I love you, but I'm running away from you and my problems rather than facing them and joining the military, something I swore I'd never do'. Now, he won't phrase it like that, but you see my point. Why torture poor Luke some more by exposing your love and then leaving? Are you really doing him a big favor? Is telling him you love him, empty as it is since you won't be there, helping Luke... or making him feel worse. If you REALLY love him, cut the boy loose totally and completely, move away and keep your feeling to yourself (you're good at that) and let a cute, compassionate and loyal guy like Luke find a guy who would truly appreciate him and take a pass on the endless issues, mind games and broken promises.
That said, I'd be surprised if he joined. Either that or there's some plot twist where he does join, but for reasons yet to be revealed.
I agree.
Since everyone in town knows
What ATWT do research....nahh!!!
TIIC of writing the NUKE storyline didn't do any research on immigration laws in regards to Ameera....so don't you think that DADT to them is just "DAD with a T on the end of it....They don't do any due dilligence on any of their storylines...which is astounding in this age of information....they really think we won't notice....amazing!!!
This is ludicrous.
But hey. It wouldn't be a soap opera if it weren't totally insane. Plus, we know he won't join the army for three reasons:
Noah ain't goin' nowhere
C'mon gang, do you honestly believe that TIIC are gonna ship Noah off to some remote Army base where he can salivate over ALL the hottie recruits in the shower, parading around bare-assed naked, grab-assing each other in the privates, making outrageous sex jokes... Wait a minute. That's what we did when I was in the Navy! Oh those late night showers on the ship... Ummmmmmmmm, were they hot!
Let's see, where was I? Oh yea... TPTB may be idiots, but they're not gonna dump Noah just yet. This soap's ratings are riding on this storyline despite losing some of the audience with the "Ameera sham marraige." They may be playing the "break-up" angle to get some sympathy for Nuke, but it may end up where the audience loses whatever appeal Noah once had. Treating Luke the way he is doing currently may backfire. It will be interesting to see what develops with Noah's so-called soul searching.
If Noah really was leaving Oakdale ....
... wouldn't we by now have heard something about Jake leaving the show? As far as I know he still has a contract and there hasn't been any rumors about him leaving anytime soon.
Also he would have already had his last day on set as we know that they're filming weeks if not months in advance.
Anyway, it's much more interesting to see the two separated and trying to come back together with some jalousy etc. then Luke and Noah jumping on beds.
Actually....
Jake doesn't have a contract with the show and never has. He's always been a recurring player, which is why folks keep wondering when/if he's leaving.
Jake could be leaving
Production for the New Shows and New Episodes for the Fall Sweeps are beginning right now. Networks often keep these shows and everything about them under wraps, unless a show is being written as a vehicle for a name actor, like William Shatner. ABC might announce that Shatner is going to star in a medical drama on their network this fall, but they wouldn't announce that Jake Silbermann is going to play the part of his son. So, if Jake has had a job offer to do a prime time drama we might not hear about it until August or September, even if he signed a contract two months ago.
Going into the Army would be the perfect way to get rid of Noah, while Jake moves onto do a new gig in the fall. If his show gets canceled, Noah can always get kicked out of the Army and come back to Oakdale. If Noah does in fact join the Army, I would suspect that's the reason why.
.
Noah/Jake Isn't Leaving....
Does Oakdale
So Wait....
aha! proof at last
see... I've been telling people all along this storyline is real.
Here's my view on the whole Army thing.... PFFFFFTTTTTTT, for one thing, Win's army buddy the Major who came to Oakdale to give his respects to Noah concerning his incarcerated dad, KNOWS Noah is gay, and no matter how understanding he was, he's still an officer in the Army and sworn to uphold the standards of the military.
Major: "Your father was a hero, you still have family in the Army. You're always welcome."
Luke: "As long as you don't enlist."
Major: "You never know, things change."
Note: Major did not say: "You never know, we might be able to hide the fact that you're gay, especially since the only sex you've had so far is str8."
Hmm.... it's been a long time since my homosexual discharge, maybe it's okay to ask and tell about kissing men, just not okay to ask and tell about having sex with men.
I don't believe for a second Noah is going into the Army.
I understand how soaps work
and i've tried to keep an open mind regarding these storylines, but good god. I read this spoiler and just started laughing. I mean, really. How effing ridiculous is this?
"I love you and I'm joining the military!"
Maybe he's thinking back to the lame Valentine's day special where he was in the Navy and he's just missing all the below-deck action...
*expletive*
Noah.....
where is the spoiler I can't
Don't get too excited or disappointed, whichever the case may be
The whole Army thing gets wrapped up pretty soon, and, because of all the rumors stemming from the Army story, the show has released a statement saying that Jake isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Jake, Van, The Show, God and Everybody....
don't forget Gramma Lucinda!
I'm glad.
If this were the Lucinda of the 1980s....
I miss the days when Lucinda wanted the best for her family and nothing would stop her from getting the job done in her own manner. This defanged character has "learned" too much and is being too supportive of lousy decisions. La Walsh has always known what's best and would have already have had the Colonel killed for real.
And how about getting her a man? Check out some of her dalliances. This list I found would make it seem that the last man Lucinda macked with was BRAD SNYDER in the late 1990s!!!!

You Mean....
Lucinda and Brad weren't lovers? For some reason, I thought they had a brief affair. I do know the actor who played Brad back then (when Brad was actually Jack's OLDER brother and not his younger one) were hot together and had great chemistry.
He was a major hottie and totally different from this Brad
Anthony: Did you read which nut-job is coming back to Oakdale in mid-July? I am SURE that you have. I am the anti-spoiler, so if you don't I can email you with the name. I can't wait.

Nick Kototakis was the
Nick Kototakis was the actor's name. He was amazingly hot and very talented. I just loved him. He had chemistry with every woman he was paired with and Brad went through a lot of women in those early days. Yes, he was very different from Austin Peck, who's hot, but certainly not talented (though he is better than I ever thought he'd be). The only similarity is that they have the same name and they do a lot of shirtless scenes. It would be nice if Lucinda got a romance as part of the upcoming Luke/Noah storyline, so I hope it happens.
As for the returning character, I did hear about it. For those who are curious, it's Dr. Rick Decker, played by John James, who was Jeff on Dynasty. Rick had romances with Babs and was married to Susan. He turned out to be a serial killer was murdering patients in the hospital. He's only going to be back for two days, July 15th and 16th.
I remember Nick
