Has David Dreier redeemed himself by voting the right way even though he's not out?

I noticed that Congressman Dreier has voted the right way on gay rights recently however he is not out?

More Info?

Matthew - I haven't followed Dreier's career much, except for knowing that he's the classic closeted gay Republican who votes against his own interests. I was not aware that he was voting FOR gay rights recently, which is interesting. Could you provide more info about what he's been voting for recently? Perhaps this is indicative of a change of heart that would ultimately lead to him coming out. Every time a gay Republican comes out, of course, especially an important one, it's a big step for us.

    He's Not perfect

He's no perfect and yes he did vote against gay adoptions in 2004 but also remember that lgb legislation in late 2007 that would prhibit discrimantion at the federal level he voted for that.

pardon me for not being thrilled

Sure he is better than the garden variety GOP member but he would be in the bottom 10% of the Democratic caucus on our issues.
