When it was disclosed a few months ago that Niall would kill Keiron, that was the supposed way he was leaving the show. Then they put out that he would NOT be killed due to his popularity. DO THEY KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING?!
Now, from these pics, it indeed looks like he will be murdered after all! WTF!
Joseph - I wish I could believe that, but we're not talking about an American Soap opera. I wonder if we'll get to see Kieron's funeral, or will that be off-screen, so as to not get in the way of the John-Paul and Craig going away festivities.
Love me less, but love me a long time - Les Chansons D'Amour
but can he wake up on another show please, where they would at least make a try to give him a decent storyline? ;-)
(I have to admit, I'm looking forward to how the whole Niall thing will end. Given that everybody's brains are reduced to approximately 10 braincells when in the presence of Niall, my guess is he has to do something so stupid or dramatic that he will finally expose himself)
I think they know perfectly well what they're doing. These storylines are set up many months ahead of time. As a recent interview with actor Jake Hendriks (Kieron) revealed, he has known since he was brought on the storyline that it was a part with a very specific, finite ending. He may not have been told at the time what the ultimate fate of the character was but he knew it was not an ongoing role.
I don't believe the Hollyoaks producers promised anything about
Kieron's fate. It was simply some zealous fans who started a petition
to save Kieron who have been claiming that the show's producers had
caved to lobbying from fans.
Also, the producers are hardly going to find an online petition with less than 1500 signatures much of an incentive to alter one of their major plotlines when each episode typically gets over 2 million viewers.
there actually were a few times when I could block out the fact that hollyoaks is a soap. With all the humor in it and those nice imaginative things in between... I even expected sort of a storyline that actually would make sense... but it is a soap after all and it looks as if they are not only going to rub it in but nail it in with a sledge hammer.
I now just hope for some nice over( the top )acting to get some fun out of it
I don't expect to see any over the top acting. James Sutton and Jake Hendriks have always played their characters with pride and dignity, and I don't expect that to change, no matter how stupid the storyline is (and considering what John Paul is doing while Kieron is dying, it is a very poorly written storyline.) Barry Sloane, who plays Niall, has turned into a caricature, but Sloane is also a good actor, so I expect him to nail the part. It's a shame that the writers let the talent of these three men go to waste. Both storylines held so much promise, but the writers decied to go for trite storytelling, and try to shock people into watching. I doubt this stunt will drive ratings up.
Kieron's death that is. Now because there is actual proof if it, people are getting all antsy? It IS a soap after all and the more drama and conflict- the more interesting.
For those who watch HO purely for the JP and Kieron- related storylines- I can see how this plot would be a let-down, but for the 2 million other viewers- it just means more drama and more great TV. And don't forget, the spoilers don't reveal everything. I have a suspicion that there will be more to this storyline than what has been revealed.
In any case, HO for me, beats most other soaps out there by miles! I can't wait to see how this pans out!
I think it's a lazy way to resolve the triangle. Rather than having JP actuallly have to make a choice, he doesn't have to now. And I have a feeling the show will minimize JP's relationship with the priest in order to give his tru wuv with Craig a happy ending.

We don't know for certain...
...that Kieron dies...he could end up in a coma from which there is always the chance of waking up a few months or years down the line.
That would happen in an American Soap

It's a shame
It was always on the cards

Hmmm....
Unless the choice is made
Unless the choice is made before Kieron dies, in which case his death might complicate things quite a bit...
Still wish they wouldn't have let him die though. There are so many other things they could have done with the character and Jake is a good actor.
But I guess that "last confession" could be a very interesting one. Plenty of drama, that is for sure.
