El Cor de la Ciutat-Max and Iago Love Story

Max About to Kiss Iago

El Cor de la Ciutat has been on air in Catalonia, Spain since 2000. However, I discovered the gay love story of Max and Iago just last week in Gays of Daytime Blog. Max, played by Bernat Quintana has been in the soap for eight years and has become a popular character.

El Cor de la Ciutat is in Catalan, a language which is somewhat different from Spanish. So those who want to watch the videos may have a hard time understanding the entire storyline except for those in Catalonia. But thanks to the efforts of evama and other translators, there are videos featuring Max and Iago's love story with English subtitles now. This feat has helped many viewers including myself to comprehend the love story with zeal.

Check the latest post of Max and Iago's love story courtesy of evama1977.

Another delicious European gay couple

Okay, I wasted three hours watching grainy YouTube clips of Max and Enric on Saturday, when I was trying to write my first Fan Fiction story for an online competition. Just like with the German and French and Spanish clips--those of you who are gay TV connoisseurs and AfterElton fans know the ones I'm talking about--this story was much more passionate, honest and intimate than almost any I've seen on American television.

Just when my eyes were looking like Amy Winehouse's and my back was aching like an Olympic gymnast's, I discovered there was a whole other set of videos for Max and Iago. Needless to say, Sunday saw my return to YouTube. Heaven!

What is it with the Europeans? I think I know, but I won't be so presumptuous as to say. Having returned from Europe in June and have been to Australia, I have to say that I think the U.S. is falling behind in it's efforts and ability to guarantee its citizens equality. I'm very disappointed in our lack of progress.

...but I have Europe, Australia and Canada to flee to for a glimpse at how to do better. And I have their shows to help me feel just a bit more satisfied.

Definitely, BRO!

I've been a fan of Max and Iago for less than two weeks but the impact of their storyline in El Cor is so strong. El Cor de la Ciutat has been featured in Gays of Daytime blog but I have found Ollian's story more interesting. However, when the pic of Max and Iago has been included at the headnote of the blog home, my curiosity instantly arose. I immediately went to YouTube, type the keyword (max and iago) and walahh! The love story of Max and Iago instantly appeared in the search result. After so much blah blah (I forced myself to stay awake till the crack of dawn to watch sequential clips of Max and Iago. I joined the Gays of Daytime message board just to include myself in the Max and Iago forum. I registered at AfterElton.com so I can have a say about Max and Iago as well as OLLIAN. I made an account at YouTube with Max and Iago pics. And the list goes on) I have never done them when I was still fond of Ollian ( I am still obsessed about OLLIAN though)

Of course, I watched those clips with English subs. However, not all of Max and Iago's clips have English subs yet. That is why I am still anticipating for other clips to appear on YouTube even though I have seen other clips with English translation at the dialog box.

Overall, I would say, I am obssessed about Max and Iago. I admit I am fickle that is why I am doing what I want to do now while this couple is still HOT!

EuropeTV rocks!

I am not from US but I hAve to say that Europe TV features the best in gay characters. I love El Cor de la Ciutat that I have become obssesed with Max and Iago characters ( actually I love these characters, and their storyline, not really the entire Catalan soap).

I am from Asia. Although the Philippines has great tolerance towards gay here. (There is no gay-bashing here so far as I have known in my community), gay characters on TV will only get the supporting roles(in a really short but sometimes irrelevant storyline) unlike El Cor de la Ciutat which has Max as the main young character.

Gays in the Philippines are accepted, so far in the area I am in. They are even stereotyped as very smart, talented and professional. The promiscuous side is not seen though it is not completely inexistent.

However, TV audience here prefer to see heterosexual characters. Gay characters are oftentimes seen in Filipino independent films but not in teleseryes.
