ATWT - Competition For Luke and Noah?

Is ABC is out to make ATWT look bad in their handling (or non-handling) of Luke and Noah's storyline?  Not only are there rumors that GH: Night Shift's Kyle will move to the mothership once NS is over (possibly taking his boyfriend played by Chad Allen with him), but the network upped the stakes by announcing the return of beloved heroine (and lesbian) Bianca Montgomery to All My Children next month.  But not only is Bianca returning, but she's bringing a girlfriend in the form of Tamara Braun.  Daytime fans will recognize TB as Carly on GH.  The lady is a powerhouse actress and AMC is promising a big storyline for Bianca and her girlfriend.  So with one and possibly two ABC shows bringing on prominent gay characters, will it motivate ATWT to finally some thing significant with Luke and Noah?  Or is no conicidence that the boys are going to have a big storyline starting next month?  Here's Daytime Confidential's take on the situation:
