ATWT -- Luke Today (9/23/08)Luke made a surprise appearance towards the end of today's episode and while he was only in two scenes, he actually did more than just stand in the background. To recap, Luke, Lucinda and Brian dropped by the farm where they learned that Holden and Lily were back together (at least until Dusty shows up next week) and Emma had decided to cancel the development project and wants to donate the land to the city and turn it into a park. To raise the money for the project, with Brian's help, the family decides to throw a fundraiser. Holden made a point of asking Luke to keep an eye on things and make sure it runs smoothly for Emma. This sudden, out of nowhere plot point will undoubtedly come into play with the guys' new storyline.

he wasnt the only one who
Oh Yeah......
I forgot about Meg and James arriving on the island. They didn't show up until the very end as well.
Luke is really letting his sideburns grow out... I'm not sure how I feel about it. Though by the time I get used to it, he'll have a totally different color and cut.
I just find this sudden storyline about turning the land into a park to be silly typical ATWT writing. The land is supposedly contaminated and there are dangers of sinkholes.... but they're going to turn it into a park for kids, especially after Ethan nearly died there! Ooooookayyyyyy....... Even more puzzling is that they're going to donate it to the city so why is Emma paying to have it turned into a park. Shouldn't the city do that? Even still, why have a fundraiser? Lily's rich, Lucinda's rich, Luke's got a big wad a cash. She didn't ask them to help out and they didn't offer. Obviously they need to have a fundraiser for plot purposes. But apparently, it doesn't have to make sense.
see I told you
Paul's Visions
The reason why Jack and Carly didn't question Paul's visions is because Parker also at times has displayed psychic powers. When Jack was believed dead a few years back, Parker was the only one who believed Jack was still alive because he could 'sense' it. He even nearly succeeded in using his powers to find Jack. Earlier this year, Parker was the only one who believed that Sam was evil and 'sensed' that Sam was going to rape Carly that the night that Parker shot Sam while trying to save Carly. So because he'd also had psychic abilities, Paul was the only one who believed that Parker was telling the truth about being able to 'sense' things and they bonded. It's silly, but it's why Jack and Carly believed Paul.
They don't know
The writers don't know (and seemingly don't care) about how these things work.
Emma has supposedly sold the land for development, which means that the money is already in her pocket and someone else has the headaches.
However, they've been saying all along that she is responsible for the clean-up, which means that she has been trying to develop it with Paul (and that creepy British guy for awhile) and have only contracted Mike. Fine, I could live with that.
But now they're saying she has to buy back the land, and then will turn it over to the city.
And her rich daughter-in-law, her rich daughter-in-law's rich mother, and Mr. Moneybags Luke are all standing there not offering ONE RED CENT to help support this woman.
Besides the fact that Emma became independently wealthy when she started writing trashy novels. All she needs to do is crank out another one of those things to sell to bored and lonely housewives and she'll be rolling in dough again (I think she must've run through all her money taking those extended vacations of hers--the ones where she's gone from Luther's Corners for months and no one seems to care).
