You can find Luke and Noah on Monday, Dec. 8th and Thursday, Dec. 11th this week on ATWT and here's what's happening:

Luke pays a visit to Carolyn Wheatley, Brian's ex-wife in the hopes of getting some ammo to get Brian out of his life for good.  What does she tell Luke?  Does she give him any answers or does he walk away with more questions?  Later, though Luke deals with an angry Brian, who confronts Luke about talking to his former wife.  Luke touches base with Noah and lets him know what's going on.  And the two boys find themselves growing closer, giving Luke hope for a reunion.   Luke and Noah attend Jack's engagment party, but when Luke presses Noah about getting back together, Noah's not having any and leaves.  But before Luke can respond by getting drunk, he has to deal with a sauced *Brian*, who has enjoyed himself way too much at the celebration.  Luke is trapped into carting his drunk sexual harasser back to the Lily-pad.  Once there, Brian (who at some point slips into a robe!) puts the moves on Luke.  Taking a page from his former boyfriend, Luke rejects his persistent suitors advances.  And then tells Brian that if this ever happens again, he'll tell Lucinda the whole ugly story.

What ever happened to the

What ever happened to the Luke from summer 2007, who wasn't going to chase after a guy who couldn't make up his mind? It's embarrassing watching him beg for crumbs from Noah.

It is Sad, Isn't It?

Like you I never would have thought that Luke would be groveling over and over to this tool that he has given everything he had (his heart, his home, his family, etc), who has given him basically nothing in return.  I think Luke's spine never grew back together after Col. Mayer shot him.

nancy drew lives?

Ok. It's cool that Luke and Noah aren't together right now. Break up to make up that's all they do. Normal part of soaps. Just look at Luke's parents - Holden and Lily. How many times a year do they break up to make up?

Even though we know that there are other gays in Oakdale, neither Luke nor Noah seems to want to date anyone else even when they break up.

When Lily gets into trouble she turns to stuff, booze, or pills. That's why Luke is drinking his sorrows away. He needs to go to AA. But this storyline with Brian  - no like. Creepy. Luke can become the town "Nancy Drew", or he and Noah can remain friends and be "The Hardy Boys."  Dang, can't Lucinda get a break?!!

NUKE

I agree with much of what is above, but REMEMBER this is As The World Turns. The place where writers go to die. I am GLAD Luke is getting lots of air time, and (SWOON!!!) Van has been awesome, delivering his best work since Luke's coming out. I actually like the Brian story-line. Very interesting twist for ATWT (as long as Brian doesn't get turned into a Serial Killer and get gunned down by Margo). Luke being all destructive is great--but here are the issues I have:

1. Casey brought up the best point when Noah blabbed to the Dean: After ALL Luke did to lie about Ameer to protect you, you go ahead and blab to the Dean? THAT needs to be addressed and Noah needs to beg for forgiveness from Luke on that point.

2. Luke is putting his life at risk by drinking, and those in the know are saying NOTHING? Nice friends. OK, so Ali took him to the doctors, but someone (NOAH!!) needs to get Lily and Holden up to speed before Luke DIES!

3. GOD, have sex already! Two teen boys who love each other have not touched in 2 years? Hell, they don't even have to like each other...two gay teens in the same hodunk town would be ALL OVER each other. Everyone else in that town has their legs in the air at the drop of a hat, so WTF?

My Understanding of the Ameera Episodes is Different

I know, I keep saying it but I have yet to see any evidence to the contrary.

Luke and the entire Snyder family agreed to help Ameera because they believed that her life would be in danger if she was sent back to Iraq.   They ALL agreed to it, not just Luke.  Noah told Luke he wouldn't do it if Luke couldn't handle it.  (Am I the Only One Who Remembers those conversations?)

Every time Noah asked Luke if he was okay with the marriage to Ameera, Luke was completely supportive.  He never once asked Noah NOT to marry Ameera, he never once suggested another alternative.  He even offered to write the freaking vows because Noah couldn't figure out how to write vows about love for someone he DIDN'T love and not hurt the person he did love (Luke)!  Luke only communicated his doubts to Holden and Aaron.

Luke didn't acknowledge he had any issues with Noah being married to Ameera until AFTER the wedding when it was too late to do anything about it.  From the second they got married Luke complained and whined and stomped all over the place as if he had no idea that Noah and Ameera would have to pretend to be married in public to keep the ICE off of their trail.

Luke could have been honest and said no about the wedding.  Noah asked him multiple times, he had many chances.   He had free will.  Why are we acting like he was drugged or something.   Yes, he loved Noah but he could have said "Noah, I can't handle it. Dont' marry Ameera, we'll find another way to help her"    Luke wasn't pressured or manipulated or cajolled.

We all hate that Noah married Ameera and she didn't deserve everything they went throught help her and save her, I get that.  I still think she was lying about stuff but they never really followed through with her background.

But we can't pretend that Luke didn't go right along with it.  He Choose To Lie to save Ameera's Life, Noah didn't force him.

So what, Luke should get to just do whatever he wants, treat Noah however he wants for ever because Noah married Ameera?

Cassey was wrong.   He has horrible judgement.  I like his character very much but come on.  It was his idea to stuff the fricking ballot box (and Luke WILLINGLY went along with it).   Cassey doesn't think things through and he only ever looks at the surface of things.  I hardly think he's the one to be telling folks how to act.  I think he's still a bit bitter about Noah because he had a crush Ameera (a big one) and she didn't feel the same because of her feelings for Noah.

Anyway, my point is really that Luke and the Snyders and Noah all did what they did for Ameera because they thought she would die if she was sent pack to Iraq.    To me it was more like hiding Anne Frank in the attic.

The wole Ameera thing was a nightmare but within the confines of the story, Noah's actions make sense.

You do extreme things when you think someone's life is in danger.   They genuinely believed she woudl die and whether that's true or not, that's all they had to go on.   I don't think you can compare that to what happened with the election.

Luke refused to listen to anything Noah had to say before the whole election debackle, why in the world would Noah keep trying now?  Luke needs to take responsibility for his own actions.  He knows he shouldn't be drinking. He can see in his sober moments that he's spiralling.   He's not listening to anyone.  Ali and Casey could easily go tell Lily and Holden. They have known Luke all of his life.

What is Noah supposed to do? kidnap Luke and lock him in his bedroom til he detoxes?

This is called bad, "pull it out your ass" writing

You're totally right in everything you say. But they clearly had no idea where they were going with Ameera. Once they'd introduced her, they needed "drama" and "conflict," which they could only find by making Luke whiny and petulant.

NUKE 2

PLEASE no more kidnapping! I could not stand to see Noah kidnap Luke and keep him in another bedroom where they won't touch each other. That would be worse than (insert any Paul/Meg scene here).

It's true the whole Snyder family agreed to help with Ameera, however after that first conversation and visit with the lawyer, they were not part of the story except for a blip here and there. Luke was fully on board with the marriage, that is not in doubt. In the conversations between NUKE, Noah promised how this would not change of affect their relationship. Luke did start to object afterwards (and yes after he gave his blessing), but that is because it WAS affecting their relationship. I have friends who did this very same thing, had very similar conversations, with similar fall out (save the kidnapping/death of anyone's father!). Luke didn't act like that much of a drama queen (I don't remember any stomping), but again had valid problems with the marriage and how it affected NUKE. He was the first to see Ameera's feelings for Noah, and how she was purposly interfering. Christ--they would have HAD SEX the day in the bedroom if Ameera hadn't again interrupted. Luke chose to help his boyfriend do what was technically illegal. He lied for Noah, but the "outcome justified the means" (Ameera lives). The same could be argued about having a fair all -inclusive class president elected at Oakdale U rather than a frat boy who would not support all-inclusive events (Film Festival) or ideas (anti discrimination verbiage in the campus mission statement). Yes one involves a human life. You CAN'T compare the two situations fairly, but Luke was lying to save a life, and supporting his boyfriend to keep him out of the hands of the ICE. Doesn't Noah owe it to Luke to keep his mouth shut?  Noah threw his boyfriend under the bus as far as I'm concerned....Hmmm the more I think about it, Luke CAN do much better.....Casey may not have  right to tell people how to act, but if that were the case, there would be no dialog from anyone in Oakdale. Casey was correct in  telling Noah when in a similar situation, Luke lied (or whatever you want to call it) for Noah, and Noah did not do the same. Yes Luke is spiraling, but we keep forgetting in the confines of the show, Luke is 19. A 19 year old does not think they are going to die, even if they have a bad kidney and that is what doctors & family say. If I were Noah, I would tell Lily and Holden immediately that Luke is putting his life at risk and deal with Luke's reaction later. At least Luke would be alive to have a reaction.
