The De-gaying of "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh"?

The original novel, "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh," upon which the movie is based has a bisexual lead and another main gay character.  Is it my imagination, or does the trailer seem to suggest that the movie has been thoroughly de-gayed?  I hope this is not the case and that the trailer was cut this way simply to appeal to a more "general audience."
