Jason Lewis was TASTY on B&S tonight

Jason Lewis who plays Chad on the show looked HOT tonight. I always thought he was handsome but he looked different from his role on Sex and the City. Not tonight! He damn good. Plus I like the point they brought his character to. Could Kevin be any more of a mess? He screwed up with Scotty, now he's done it with Chad and they say he'll put his foot in his mouth with the Senator's brother. What's up with the writing of this character?

Except that.....

This was a relationship what was doomed from the start. The minute Chad said he was bi-sexual and closeted, Kevin should've run for the hills. He was just asking for trouble and heartache. OTOH, I loved the scene where they decide not to watch the movie and rip their clothes off.

Interesting how both Kitty and Kevin got dumped by their respective lovers for essentially the same reasons: neither of them are really ready to commit.

Did anyone find it strange that Joe wasn't at the family dinner? And then at the end, Sarah got that phone call, looked at who it was and didn't answer? I wonder if there's something going on there.

Overall though, great episode. I just love Sally Field. She so good in the role. She knocks it out of the park every week.

Oompah

I actually thought he looked a bit orange -- his makeup was very heavy. But that dinner table scene was priceless.

OH, yes, Chad looked sexy

OH, yes, Chad looked sexy (and a bit tan, but he's a soap star...it fits for me), but the minute he said "let's go to the premier together" to Kev, I yelled at my TV - "you're a LIAR, Chad! You'll NEVER go through with it!" Heh. Never would have guessed that Kevin was going to screw this one up. Poor Kevin.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the stuff Chad's agent said to Kevin? I don't have personal experience with coming out, so I don't know if those things he said about the pressure, and about Kevin needing to take it as seriously as walking down the aisle were realistic.

Anyone? Bueller?

Walkin' Down The Aisle

The comments by the agent ring as true to me.  An actor in Hollywood coming out (even in this day and age) is going to limit themself.

I understood the thrust of Chad's agent's argument to Kevin being, "This is a serious step.  Don't force it just as a lark.  He's going to need you to be there for him when he starts dealing with the consequences."

I think Kevin got the message which is why he got cold feet.  The only reason why I think the character is with Chad is lust.  Why would he go through all the crap, compromise his principles and such ... I think Kevin knows deep down there's no future in it but lettin' the little brain do the talkin' for now.

What I like about Kevin's character is that he is just as human and fallible as the rest of the siblings.  No special pass because he happens to be gay.

It's what I like about Kevin

It's what I like about Kevin as well. He (and his love life) is treated just like everyone else's: messy, complicated and full of highs and lows. And not chaste either as the show makes clear Kevin has an active sex life. However, I see so many complaints from people that Kevin is a bad example for gays because he isn't in a long term, monogamous relationship. Of course, while that might set a 'good' example for gays, it's not exactly riveting television, IMO.

Bi-as?

"The minute Chad said he was bi-sexual and closeted, Kevin should've run for the hills. He was just asking for trouble and heartache."

Why is Chad's being bisexual (no hyphen required, thank you very much) an issue?  Does the fact that he's checking out the cute waitress at the corner bar instead of (or in addition to) the cute waiter make him more likely cheat?

Bi-ased?

Because as an actor who depends on public acceptance for his livlihood, the social pressure is going to be overwhelming for him to find an opposite gender love interest and go with it.

I see it as a pragmatic, not necessarily biased or bigotted take on the situation.
