Making AfterElton Forums more user friendly

Once we are settled in with our site's new look and layout next week, we'll eventually be doing some updating of the community and forum sections. I know a lot of folks have suggestions on how we could improve them so I'm creating this thread for folks to post suggestions.

I doubt we'll be able to use them all, but we'll certainly consider each one. So fire away!
