Gay men and their womenfolk

I'm sure we gay/bi men experience all kinds of relationships with the various womenfolk in our lives.  The impact of these relationships can run the gamut from uplifting and encouraging to downright challenging and stressful.  The womenfolk I'm referring to can be mothers, sisters, ex-wives, ex-girlfriends, aunts, grandmothers, bosses, best female friend, 'beard' or 'cover', colleague etc etc etc.

Looking through the spectrum of gay-themed films, I'm wondering which films depicting a gay/bi man and his womenfolk struck you as insightful, realistic or challenging. Alternatively, did you find the depiction of the female character(s) stereotypically unhelpful or unbelievably bad (acted / scripted).

Now I'm think we can all readily jump in with our opinions on Nina's relationship with George as depicted in The Object of My Affection ... but I'm sure there's a whole lot more out there that's worth discussing right?
