Mystery suggestions anyone?

I'm a complete sucker for crime, mystery, detective novels since I first read Sherlock Holmes as  a teen. If they have a smart gay detective, cop, private eye... it' s a bonus of course. I was wondering which books in this genre you like and if you maybe have some suggestions for further reading (either in English or German).

 My personal favorit of all time are Joseph Hansen's Dave Brandstetter novels. I also very much appriciate John Morgan Wilson Ben Justice novels. I enjoyed Michal Nava (Henry Rios) and Richard Stevenson (Don Starchey). Not wiote that good as those in yme yes but still an enjoybale read: Grant Michaels (Stan Kraychik), orland Outland (Doan McChandler), R.D. Zimmerman (Todd Mills),Michael Craft (Mark Manning)



Any more suggestiosn? Preferable a whole series rather then stand alone novels.
