To Make a Long Story Short ... Memorial Day Weekend, Kevin Spacey, Gay Mister Roboto, and more

  • Becki Newton (Amanda from Ugly Betty) and her hubby Chris Diamantopoulos (who plays Debra Messing's gay pal in The Starter Wife) at the premiere of Wife. So. Cute. I. Could. Pop.
  • BREAKING! Kevin Spacey totally may not not be not gay, and is SO almost not ready to kind of hint at possibly not talking about it! Whatever...
  • This is the worst news we've heard all week: awful and misguided failed pilot Gay Robot may get a second chance as an animated show. DOES NOT COMPUTE
  • Speaking of gay robots ... Chuck Panozzo, the bassist from rock band Styx (whom I saw this past summer, with my parents, in Iowa), has written a book about being a closeted rock star (Styx did the glorious "Mister Roboto," remember, hence the hackneyed segue).
  • Summer reading lists: now with more gay (it's about time!)
  • Swayze, Gilbert, whatever -- WHO'S PLAYING NELLIE?!?!
  • Looks like characters losing their sexuality isn't the only continuity problem that Heroes is having these days (did anyone else watch the last episode? Worst. Finale. Ever.)
  • Finally, don't forget the BEST.GAY.WEEK.EVER! We've got Rosie's sex life, pics from Cannes, and Saved the Musical. BTW, it's Memorial Day Weekend in the US so we won't be back until Tuesday!

Things always stay the same...

Yet another gay actor who stays in the closet until he no longer has a career. At least unilke Nathan Lane, Kevin Spacey is not completely talentless and he does not have to go around putting down other gay-related projects (like Brokeback Mountain) to make himself feel better, but that isn't saying much.

My guess is more people read this site than saw Kevin Spacey's last movie.

La Spacey is a Joke

and a bore.

Two Academy Awards, but he's sunk several films beneath him since. He's not a star. At best he's "value added." And not that much value. Parker Posey stole Superman Returns right out from under him. Petty theft I know further proof of the limitations of his talent.

So now he's teasing that he might come out.

Kevin Spacey RULES!

Spacey IS the best - they don't come any better. He won his awards because he deserved them. And still does. Period!

My guess is more people read this site than saw Kevin Spacey's last movie.

LMAO Good one! You're full of it, just like your good buddy here. Why is it that gays try so hard to make everyone else gay - and have NO acceptance for anyone who is straight. Then whine and complain about people who don't accept them - yeah, right!

Many people will continue to watch and love Kevin Spacey - REGARDLESS of what his sexual preference is. It's really nobody's business! Accept it!

I was critical of Heroes

I was critical of Heroes from the beginning because the show was just too focused on characters I loathed.  Their villains were mustache twirling characatures, or ship jumping rats that switched sides at the drop of a hat.  The finale came across as a cheap ploy to end a story line they put to bed at the mid-season break with a lead up to a much vaunted second season.  After a spectacular lead up, they basically got lost and started making crap up as they went along *CoughBattlestargalacticaCough*.  I give the entire series a four out of ten for visual effects and eye candy.

RE: I was critical of Heroes

Wow, I couldn't disagree more. The only thing I found underwhelming was the end of the finale, with Hiro and Nathan coming to resolve the climax, but besides that it's been a really enjoyable series.

As for "mustache twirling characatures"; who? Even Sylar had his sympathetic moments (see "The Hard Part"). And "ship jumping rats that switched sides at the drop of a hat"; are you referring to Mr. Bennet? He only 'switched sides' when his daughter's life was in danger, and it was established from almost the beginning how he was trying to protect her.
