Yanks Getting Hitched in Canada

ThoughLoveBeLost sent in this story about Americans going to Canada to get married. It focuses on an elderly lesbian couple who have been together for forty years and have been fighting for the right to get married. Unfortunately, one of them is very ill and will die soon so they gave up and went to Toronto to get married. The article really does a great job of pointing out the monstrous injustice being done to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of gay and lesbian couples in America. It also made me think of Mary Cheney and Heather Poe and ask myself, as I frequently do, how those vile people live with themselves knowing their party is the reason America treats it's GLBT citizens so awfully.
