Showtime - Meadowlands - Mark (gay, maybe?)

Anybody watching Meadowlands? I think the show may end up having a gay character. The son, Mark, is asexual right now. In the next episode he experiments with cross-dressing and gets beat up pretty bad. The thing is that Mark is a highly-functioning autistic who wears gloves after being in a fire. It will be interesting to see where they take this.

The autistic part is interesting, it reminds me of Daniel Tammet who is a highly-functioning autistic gay man in the UK. He remembered and recounted pi, recounting it to its 22,514th digit in just over 5 hours. 60 Minutes did a piece on him.

Here's a YouTube of Daniel

I've never heard of the show, I've just watched the trailer for it and it looks pretty good, but what's it actually about?

What is Meadowlands about?

The show follows the current formula that has spread onto TV like a rash. Mysterious people, mysterious situations, secrets spoon-fed to the audience in each episode, questions, creepy revelations, odd people and more questions. Lost, 4100, Invasion, Jehrico, Heroes...

Meadowland is a community that is "off the map". It's citizens are all in a witness relocation program. The main family consists of a dad, a mom and two twins - boy and a girl, 17. The boy, Mark, is autistic and for the first episode he was a mute, silent since he had his hands burned in a fire at the dads bar. There's some question as to whether this is actually a real family or if they are a family put together from individuals who had to be relocated. Everybody has a story.

I like it so far. Oh, and all the people are British.

Well it sounds kinda good and its just been picked up by channel 4 over here except they have changed the name to like "cape town" or some rubbish like that... annoying!!

i guess I'll start watching it (jsut cause I can't never resist a good mystery show) kinda like the whole first season of desperate houswives (season two just didn't like it at all - i don't actually think I finished it)

thanks for getting back to me :)

Daniel on 60 Minutes

I saw that segment and was BLOWN AWAY.  What an incredible, awe-inspiring guy, on so many levels -- the self-awareness and the superhuman abilities and even the sense of humor, so unusual in someone with his condition.  WATCH IT!!!
