Burn Notice

I think we should boycott the new USA series Burn Notice. I just saw the previews for it and in it A character said to the main character "You could be a cop, you could be a Fag, you could be anyone". Don't they know by now that language like that is unacceptable!!

Are you sure...

that they don't say something else, like, "you could be a cop, you could be a Fed?" That doesn't sound like the kind of thing that could make it past standards and practices into an ad. I've been checking online and haven't found anything in any of the clips available.

He definitely said "fed".

He definitely said "fed". It was in the preview for the July 5th episode. See for yourself:

Let's not go looking for controversy where there is none.

The Burn Notice pilot episode was pretty good by the way. All of the main and recurring characters are very interesting. The cast is uniformly excellent, from the lead, Jeffrey Donovan, to co-stars Bruce Campbell, Sharon Gless and Gabrielle Anwar.

If I Am Wrong...

Then I am sorry, but It really did sound like he said Fag.

I was not looking for controversy, but I am also not going to let people get away with saying things like that either.

Maybe they should have used FBI, that way such misconceptions would be avoided.

You can avoid such misconceptions...

... by listening more carefully. The line you thought you heard "you could be a cop, you could be a fag" doesn't even make any sense. "fed", on the other hand, is a very common term in cop/spy dramas.

And I'm sorry, every time I listen to that clip, it sounds nothing like "fag".
