I've written the BBC America CS email before and all I get back is a form letter. The most recent one was when I wrote to ask if they were bringingTorchwood to BBCA and they wrote back saying no, then two days later it was announced they are. Anybody have a email address to a real person and not a form/canned reply addie?
I want to know what they are playing at...the show started out scheduled from 9 to 10 cst with the 9 am episode a replay of the previous night's 9:30 episode...SO if you watched it for an hour and got hooked the next night at 9 you got a reapeat...very odd. I've always thought it should have been two eps. back to back as it's hard to launch a half hour show at the half hour!?! I was fine though, the show was awesome and I took to it...spoiling myself I knew that the Craig/John-Paul story was coming and I was liking everything else. THEN it was announced it was moving to the afternoon, just sitting by itself but hey it was still on, THEN with no warning the afternoon ep. never aired, it left the TV on-air sked and the show turned up at 2 am cst, the fans over at BBCA's boards went nuts and today the show reappeared on my on-screen guide as airing at 3:30 cst...great! It was reported over at the BBCA site, all seemed like the net was listening to us and then Whose Line shows up in place of Hollyoaks...it's just frustrating. It takes a while to get into a soap and a couple months isn't enough...I just want to know why the schedule mucking and what thier plans for the show are...
What frustrates me about the Hollyoaks move is that when Garth Ancier announced that the soap was joining the lineup he acknowledge that a problem for BBA was an erratic schedule, making it harder for viewers to build a habit. A show like Hollyoaks is going to require a slow build and by moving it from the schedule so quickly, it really makes Ancier seem like he didn't understand the problem he was identifying.
You wouldn't belived how ticked off I am at BBCAmerica for changing the time slot of HollyOaks to the early morning when the moons still up. First they said the time was going to change to 4:30pm in the afternoon...then, like they always do and without any formal anouncement pull the show or put it on some appauling nightly hour. This is horrible behavior once again by BBCAmerica. They really have no respect for their audience. HollyOaks has only been on for like two months, give it time to build an audience. They've done this before with so many of their other shows such as Shameless, Bad Girls, In The City, East Enders, etc...
I've been watching every night for the past two months and have become addicted to HollyOaks. I just love it. It's about the only show that i'm watching right now since Brothers And Sisters is in repeats.
biffordmichael, there is a lot of speculation as to why the sudden schedule change...is it ratings? is it too expensive to air? or as some have speculated, myself included, if the JP/Craig storyline could be one of the reasons for the sudden time change from what was meant to be a 4:30pm afternoon timeslot to the middle of the night. Let's be honest, HollyOaks doesn't shy away from the intimacy with the guys, showing them in bed and plenty of kissing scenes. Add to that it's one of the major storyline of the show spanning almost a year. Now, I know BBCAmerica does have shows with gay storylines, and even the upcoming Torchwood, but not as detailed and focused as the JP/Craig love story. Plus, BBCA has paying advertisers. Like I said, just speculation, but it does make you wonder with that sudden jump to 3:00am without warning just as the JP/Craig storyline is about to start.
Good point Maxine...the episode that aired Monday night/Tuesday morning (the first in the twilight timeslot) really did in fact START the gay storyline, setting up C/JP/Hannah/Sarah couplings for the very first time....I wonder if someone over at BBCA decided that what was coming down the path was a little too hot for a mid-afternoon play time? Hmmmmm! :)
Maybe it's because its originally a C4 show which is why they don't mind shifting the timeslots around? Plus, i don't know about BBCA but BBC doesn't show half the stuff C4 gets away with. they show the omnibus repeat at 9 in the morning while BBC are most likely doing songs of praise or something.
That's really a shame.
Does anybody have a real email address for BBC?
I'll check. What specifically do you want
Hollyoaks
