Is it just me or don't guys on this site like to private message?I've messaged a few guys on this site, mostly those that have written articles or great comments to articles on the site, but no one has responded. I enjoy the site for its information and feedback regarding all things gay, but was also kind of hoping to pick up a couple of new friends in the process. No worries, I'll still keep on reading the site everyday, it's more just an observation and a question for anyone that might like to respond.
Or maybe it's just me..YIKES!!
Have a GREAT day!

Don't Worry
Members rarely comment on any article or post. There are thousands of members on this site but only a handful comment on a regular basis. I think that translates into the private messages area too.
It's rude when people don't respond to a private message or comment. You are better off knowing they are rude upfront than down the road.
Another thing that could be the reason why they haven't responded is that they are unaware they have an inbox on this site. I didn't realize that I had one until about eight weeks after I joined. Luckily no one sent me a message within that time period.
I think you're a nice guy. You shouldn't be worried about others, you aren't the one with the problem.
Also, the private messaging was kinda screwy...
Thanks guys...
Sorry. Just got wind of this thread, but
Now I know...
Whoo hooo..my post helped someone!! :)
You made my week! Have a GREAT weekend.
~JustinIf I'm not mistaken...
...the message in-box won't show up unless you are logged in as a user.
In another post, I wrote that it would be useful to have the option to remain permanently logged in, i.e. you're logged in as soon as you visit this site, without having to type in your user name and password each time you visit.
So if people forego signing in and are just in "read mode", they won't know they have messages in their in-box.
I do have a complaint about
AfterElton's member profile page is..
..kinda not MySpace-y. So people don't bother updating it or posting pictures or whatnot. Personally, I visit AfterElton for the articles just to read them and then commenting on a fwe, and private messagine people isn't in my priorities. Haha.
Don't get me wrong, but when someone messages me, I take time to read em and reply. :)
xoxo
