I see a ton of gay and lesbian films but do not have Logo here.  It sounds like you are talking about Chris Stafford who starred in Edge of 17. In a scene near the end of the movie. It was a huge gay hit in 1998.  I ran into the director, David Moreton, at Outfest in Los Angeles two years ago and he said Chris had gone on to law school in Florida.

The only other film I can think of would be the 2001 film Gypsy 83 with Kett Turton in a road picture with the amazing Sara Rue as two outcasts going to a Stevie Nicks concert in New York.  Interestingly both films were written by Todd Stepehens and based on his own personal life. Todd also directed Gypsy 83.  Kett works fairly regularly in both film and television.  He was also in another gay-themed film, Saved, with Mandy Moore, Jenna Malone,  and Mcauley Culkin; though he was not gay, or Goth, in that one.
