NFL Opening Day

Even though I'm in Seattle, I'm pleased as punch that the first game they're showing today is Denver versus Buffalo which means I get to watch Jay Cutler's official era begin. (He started a couple of games last year, but this will be the first season where he's in charge from the get go. So what other teams are folks following?

Who watched week one?

If you missed the Denver/Buffalo game it had one of the more exciting finishes I've seen in quite some time. Denver QB Jay Cutler had moments both brilliant and awful, but when push came to shove he pulled a John Elway and drove the Broncos down the field with a minute to go and without time outs. They got the ball to the 30 yard old with about twelve seconds on the clock and somehow got the field goal team on the field and Elam kicked a winner as time ran out. The Bills looked like someone had sucker punched them.

The game never should've been that close as Denver outgained Buffalo 480 to 180 yards. Hard to say which way things will go for Denver. The win could propel them off to a strong start, but only if Cutler stops making so many rookie mistakes.

The Colts also looked strong as they whomped New Orleans 41-10. That sucks as I hate the Colts. I used to love them, but ever since Tony Dungy appeared in front of an anti-gay group for a fundraiser earlier this year (and those Colt players made such stupid comments during that Snickers ad) I've really disliked them and want to see them finish in last. What, me bitter?

So how did your favorite teams do? I'll post my top ten after tomorrow's games.
