You should have included the context of that statement.Congress appearantly is having hearings on the misogyny in rap/hip hop lyrics.He started off by basically saying that congress has more important things to deal with.He was actually making a point for a minute because I agree that congress doesn't need to have hearings on policing the lyrics of any genre of music.He started to make another good point when he said they should pay more attention to that situation in Jena, Louisiana, but then this dumbass, in his defensiveness over having his culture criticized, resorts to attacking a group he feels is beneath him.The guy is a d*ck.

Who cares what he has to say anyway?Does he even have a career anymore?He came out with a few hits years ago and was a hot rapper for about a minute on MTV, but I haven't seen him in a long time.I can't believe he even has kids.Who would reproduce with him?His music sucks.

Speaking of which, I first read this story on Towelroad and the responses were almost as ignorant and stupid as what he said.A lot of it was anti-rap/hip hop."It's not real music" "It's not art" "It's garbage" "I hope he gets shot" "rap is crap" and on and on.It's not rap/hip hop that's the problem, it's guys like 50 Cent.They're the ones who give it a bad name.Whenever I see him on TV I turn the channel right away.I like rap/hip hop.I especially like the nasty songs.I just like to pretend they're talking about guys.LOL.

I like something that has a beat I can move to.It's not all homophobic and sexist.One of my favorite songs, if not my favorite of all rap/hip hop songs, is "Lick it" by God-des and She.I heard it on the third season finale of The L word.Another one that's on my ipod right now is "Do the damn thing" by Amp & Q from voices from the frontline, a cd made by actual soldiers in Iraq.Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Magoo all make music I love.Ja Rule and 50 are garbage, not rap/hip hop.

promoting homosexuality?  Two guys/gals want to find someone to share their life with and that is objectionable?  That is terrible for kids to see?  Heaven forbid they actually might adopt tolerant, life-affirming attitudes towards other members of the  human race that are different then them.

Hip-hop "lyrics" and "music" (and I use that term loosely) promote hatred and violence towards vulnerable groups (women and GLBT) that is objectionable!  If Ja Rule cannot see the difference between the two then, well I will just shut up now because I will say something I regret.
