Scotty really is one of the best gay characters on television.I think Scotty Wandell is one of the best gay characters to ever be on television. There's many things I like about him...the main one is that he's not perfect and he never claimed to be. Scotty is charming, witty, comfortable with himself, unashamed to be gay and a bit of a controlled mess. I liked him in tonights episode...he's probably the most interesting non-Walker character on B&S and I'm glad they are allowing Scotty to grow. The show and it's writers have actually invested time in developing him. I don't want him to end up with Kevin. Scotty is too good for Kevin. Kevin is not a controlled mess...he's just a mess. I like Kevin but I don't think he's good enough for Scotty. And although I have my issues with the actor who plays Scotty I give him full credit for doing a good job. I find Scotty totally desirable. As a side note about the actor, checkout his Wikipedia page. In particular, just go view the history pages...read the past edits. There's a mini-battle it seems between fans and vandals about Luke's sexuality. Right now it has him as being Lance Bass' ex lol. But here's a few highlights I chuckled at:
Is there any gay in Hollywood that hasn't tapped Lance's bAss? God bless open-sourced community driven resource websites. That's all for now...I'm gonna go back to Sally Fields' Wiki page and finish reading about how she got into the movie business after flying B-52 bombers in the Spanish-American War shortly after helping Anne Frank begin the Anti-Franco Revolution.

Canucks strike again
Where would the entertainment industry be without Canadians? Luke McFarlane is yet another. From Mary Pickford, Lorne Greene and William Shatner, through Dan Ackroyd, Mike Myers, Howie Mandel and Keanu Reeves, up to the present day with newbies like Luke McFarlane. In the music industry some of the biggest selling albums by females have been Canadian; Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Alanis Morrissette and recently Avril Lavigne.
Makes me proud, now I am eagerly awaiting an out GLBT Canadian artist/entertainer.
Cheers

How could you forget these?
"now I am eagerly awaiting an out GLBT Canadian artist/entertainer"
How could you forget k.d. lang, Rufus Wainwright, Carole Pope, Rick Mercer, Scott Thompson, and Ashley McIsaac?
Not to mention Toller Cranston, Brian Orser, Charlie David (Dante's Cove), Tegan & Sara, Jay Manuel, and the late Tommy Sexton (CODCO).
Rufus Wainwright
and KD Lang I forgot, I am not sure how many Americans know Rick Mercer and Ashley McIsaac. I don't consider figure skating entertainment per se but a sport (which I guess is entertainment in a way). The others I have not heard of to be honest.
Cheers

Scotty's Future
Scotty is an excellent charachter on B&S and I wouldlike to see him more often, to allow his charachter to grow, and hopefully grow closer to Kevin.
A thread two weeks ago opened up an interesting dislike of Jason McAllister because of his occupation, among other aspects. I think it would be simpler (for this season) to reintroduce Scotty and Kevin in a relationship rather than bring in BF#4 for Kevin and allow Kevin be seen as a lover-sick puppydog that jumps at every potential interested party.
Double take
That really was quite disconcerting!
I had visions of James Doohan in a clinch with George Takei !
Appealing to some no doubt ?!?
Having read further, not THAT Scotty then.........
Scotty is the best
please please please make
please please please make scotty his boyfriend! I am not a fan of the mcalister brother.... and how creepy is that your sister is sleeping with your boyfriends brother. Just my opinion.
I love Scotty and want him to be with Kevin!!!!
Scotty (Season 1 - Season 2)
I think Luke McFarlane is a fine actor. You have to deal with the writing and situations you are dealt with. He did really well in the morning after scene (after the Indian date and first kiss) and also well in the break-up scene (the phone message Kevin leaves him, while he's in bed overhearing).
The second season episodes I've caught (asking for help with the cop, the dinner with the crab cakes and Jason - whom personally I was never keen on - and, especially the car scene afterwards), all showed him as a good character with good lines that allowed him to grow. Unlike some of the other, short term characters (remember Amber, or Dave the contractor), McFarlane can give a better performance now because he's been given more to do. It has nothing to do with him abilities, but how the writers and directors/production team showcase him. Personally, I'm glad he's back.
