It's hard to recall a year when two queer artists have basically come out of nowhere to dominate the pop culture conscious the way Adam Lambert and Lady GaGa did in 2009. Both have seemingly been everywhere and anywhere, all the while generating tons of headlines and press, some good some bad.

But whether performing at the American Music Awards or chatting with Barbara Walters because they truly are two of the most fascinating people of 2009, we couldn't stop talking about — or looking at — either of them.
