Tel Aviv shooting. Photos and video

This is admittedly not our usual fare here at AfterElton.com, but we came across these Getty wire photos of the aftermath of Saturday's gay youth center shooting, and since we had only seen a few of them published elsewhere we decided to post the lot of them to give our readers a fuller sense of the tragedy and reaction to it within Israel. Warning: a few of these images are graphic in nature.

Some background for those who might not have been following the news this weekend: On Saturday a gunman entered one of two gay youth centers in Tel Aviv during a social support gathering called "Cafe Youth." The gunman opened fire, killing two poeple and injuring at least 11 others. The shooter was masked and wearing black and managed to escape the scene.

Israel's Minister of Public Security has categorized this as a hate crime, and other gay venues in Tel Aviv have been shut down since the killer remains at large. The first set of photos depict Saturday's crime scene in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. The second set are images from Sunday's candlelight vigil in the streets of Tel Aviv, and the third are from Sunday's funeral for one of the victims, Nir Katz, who was a counselor at the center. Also, following the photos a brief video news report from ITN.
