Johnny Weir's Diving Into the World of Fashion, But What Can We Expect?

With the Olympics behind him and the World Championships only a month away, Johnny Weir is already beginning to think about a future beyond figure skating. In a recent interview with Yahoo! Sports he said:

I am going to skate in the World Championships and then I have to decide how long I want to stay on vacation. In figure skating your body can only last for so long. I can’t be 50 and trying to skate but I can be 50 and be in fashion, so I have to look to my future and what I want to achieve.

After a week of speculation, he confirmed the sentiment when he spoke with Bryant Gumbel on HBO’s Real Sports saying he would enter the fashion world in a “big way.” But what would Johnny’s line look like? Given that he designs his own costumes and has a flair for fur and spangles, we really don’t have a clue.

Will he blend the feminine and masculine sides of his personality and have an androgynous line? Or will he have a more structured and militaristic line inspired by his love for all things Russian?

We’ve gone through some of his best looks on and off the ice to catch a glimmer of what we may expect from our fashionista on ice.

First up, Johnny makes the case for classic American sportswear:

Michael Kors would be proud.
