Weekend Potpourri Pic Post: The NAACP Image Awards, The Sydney Mardi Gras ... And Naked People!
It was an ... eclectic ... weekend, with the closing ceremonies of that sports thingy hogging most of the attention.
There were other celebrations around the world, though, so let's shine the spotlight on a few non-Olympic events.
We'll start in Los Angeles with the 41st NAACP Image Awards. Precious was the big winner of the night, winning awards for Outstanding Motion Picture, Outstanding Independent Film, stars Mo'Nique and Gabourey Sidibe, screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher and out director Lee Daniels.
