From Rags To Bitches: An "Ugly Betty" Retrospective

*Yes, I admit to stealing the title of Mr. Blackwell's autobiography for the title of this article, but I don't think he'd mind. He's in heaven biding his time until Sally Kirkland and Cher join him on the eternal red carpet.

Since its debut in September of 2006, ABC's Ugly Betty has given us four seasons of laughs, fun, heart, and great bitchy one-liners.

As it ends its run tonight, let's take a stroll down memory lane for a final look at what made Betty so special ... the men, the moments, the guest stars, and Wilhelmina! Vote for your favorites!

The Guest Stars

During its four seasons Betty was a magnet for quirky guest stars who also happened (perhaps not coincidentally) to be gay faves. Behold the fabulousness!

Kristin Chenoweth appeared in season one as Betty's dental hygienist, who loved chick-flicks and proper oral care:

“That’s so romantic! Just like when Julia Roberts flossed before whoring herself in Pretty Woman. Great movie – with an important message!”

Gina Gershon appeared three times in season one as Fabia (who was totally not based on Donatella Versace) and chewed the scenery with gusto, especially when she went spiked heel to spiked heel with a certain Mode diva:

Fabia: You must come to the ceremony. I won’t be able to get married without something old.
Wilhelmina: With the veins in your legs, you already have your something blue.

Patti Lupone guest-starred as Marc's mother, who didn't take his coming-out well ... at all.
