Happy Cinco de Mayo! Ten Reasons Why We Love Mexico.

So what exactly is Cinco de Mayo? According to Wikipedia:

"Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican civic holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín. In the United States Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico. The date is perhaps best recognized in the United States as a date to celebrate the culture and experiences of Americans of Mexican ancestry, much as St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, and the Chinese New Year are used to celebrate those of Irish, German, and Chinese ancestry respectively. Similar to those holidays, Cinco de Mayo is observed by many Americans regardless of ethnic origin."

When we realized Cinco de Mayo was coming up, we knew we had to pay tribute to all the wonders of Mexico, and after some research, I discovered that Cinco de Mayo is on May 5th this year, so I had to act quickly. Luckily, it wasn't difficult to find plenty to love about our friends to the south.

Here are just a few reasons why we celebrate Mexico!

Christian Chávez

Mexican Waldo is muy caliente!

Singer/actor Christian Chávez became famous on the Mexican telenovela Rebelde and its spin off teen band RBD. in 2007 he was outed by a magazine that showed pics of him marrying his partner in Canada.

Now flying solo (professionally and personally), Christian released his first album last year, and below you can see his latest music video, a duet with Anahi titled "Libertad" which features hot guys grappling, Pat Robertson, and Perez Hilton in a bunny suit.

Mexico City

Mexico City is one of the most important cultural centers in the world, boasting more museums than any other city, and It is also the fourth city in number of theaters just behind New York, London and Toronto.

More importantly, in March 2010 it became the first Latin American city to legalize same-sex marriage, which just added to its natural beauty.
