"Work Out"'s Odd CoupleAE: What can we expect from this season? Jesse: I think that with this season, what's going to make it really special is that it really showcases the vulnerability of the characters. In the first season, Jackie came off as this almost untouchable person. Almost bullet proof. And from the first episode when you see her in the therapy session, she's letting people in even more. And I think that's really going to enrich the program. And I think with all the events that have happened to us and all the stories that come this season, I think every single person breaks down a bit. It's a show about a woman who runs a gym [and] really shares a lot of humanity with people. Brian: Not only about training and being healthy. Just in general, how to deal with things and relationships. Jesse: I think we learn about the importance of relationships and friendships. There's lessons learned every episode. I am happy to share my mental and emotional breakdowns with the nation if it's going to help anybody. AE: Where does the show go this season? Brian: You're definitely going to need a box of Kleenex for this season. Jesse: I mean “Grey's Anatomy” doesn't have s*** on us this season. It's really impressive. Brian: I know I've cried pretty much for the last bunch of episodes. AE: Now, in the preview, it shows that Jackie and Rebecca start a relationship? JACKIE AND REBECCA? What's that about? Brian: No one knows quite what's going on. AE: Do you guys like to shock the audience? Brian: Last season…my grandfather walked out, and my grandmother goes “What's wrong Milton ?” My grandfather's like “That woman is kissing another woman. You tell me when that's off the TV. I just want to see my grandson. I can't handle a woman kissing another woman.” Jesse: That's the exact example of how Peeler and I grew up differently. My grandfather loved that part the best. He peels to that television every time those girls start kissing. I remember my grandpop called me one time and said “You tell that Jackie to kick Mimi's ass to the curb.” AE: Brian, are you really quitting Sky Sport? Jesse: I think you can make a drinking game out of every time Brian says he's going to quit on the show. Brian: I may quit. I may stay. You'll have to watch to find out. AE: And how about your personal lives, guys? Jesse: Did the steak come from there? Brian: Jesse may be getting to experience North Carolina with his new love. Jesse: Oh, we just broke up. We just broke up today. It happens. AE: Sorry to hear that. So you can get away from it all with a trip down South, Jesse… Brian: He's straight when he goes there. Jesse: I think it's more straight to hell. AE: Is the cast coming to the wedding, Brian? AE: How is dating with you Jesse? Since the show aired? AE: I'll take you to coffee… Brian: Be careful. He'll put a tic-tac in there. AE: Back to your weight, Jesse. Are you back to dieting and working out? AE: Are you still teasing him, Brian? Jesse: Every day of my life. It will come back to him. Brian: I like to be that little voice outside of his head. AE: And how is the training itself going these days? Jesse: That's what trainers do. They see something cool and they steal it. The one thing I'm most grateful for on the show is working with some of the best trainers in LA and stealing their s***. And putting my own twist on it. I come from yoga and boot camp. They're both awesome ways to train, but you got to expand and explore. I have a couple of fitness gurus. Whenever I'm low on ideas, I book a session with them and they destroy me and show me good stuff. And then I take it and always give them credit. Brian: And then I charge him $70 dollars. Work Out moves to 10 PM next Tuesday, March 27. Submitted by on Tue, 2007-03-20 22:40. |
