2007 GLAAD Awards Photos

On Saturday night GLAAD hosted their 18th annual Media Awards in Los Angeles. Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight opened the show by saying, "I am angry at the inequality we face every day. I hope to turn my anger into action. One of my actions is to be here to celebrate GLAAD's work – it's work to teach and promote inclusion."

Jennifer Aniston received the "Vanguard Award" (presented by Jake Gyllenhaal), while Martina Navratilova received the "Stephen F. Kolzak Award". Little Miss Sunshine landed "Outstanding Film--Wide Release", Brothers & Sisters scored "Outstanding Drama Series", and Ugly Betty was lauded as "Outstanding Comedy Series".

The awards weren't without controversy this year including GLAAD's ongoing decision to exclude gay news media and TV channels such as The Advocate, Logo (which owns AfterElton), and here! GLAAD also is under fire for their handling of the recent Don Imus controversy and their decision to honor Grey's Anatomy with the award for "Outstanding Individual Episode" also drew criticism because of ABC and Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes' handling of the Isaiah Washington controversy.

Nonetheless, it looks to have been a glamorous night with much of the gay glitterati and other GLBT allies in attendance!
